How absolutely horrible, annoying and pathetic was the chant “USA, USA” when Cox got the ball.

That alone was enough to turn me to the ?

In the current climate,  totally agree.

Relieved that the Pies blew it. They were outplayed for three quarters and it just needed the Weagles to put it on the board.

Happiest mostly because J Howe does not get a medal. He and his manager made it impossible for us to keep him, and we were screwed as a result so screw you Jeremy.

Umps will need to lift massively to get the Pies home from here

Thinking the same thing, during the second and third quarters of the game. Wondered if Gil the Dill and the umps would dare?

I must be the only person who thought the umps were actually ok. They kept the whistle in the picket but it seemed mostly consistent, the block the resulted in Sheeds goal was probably the most influential non decision and I’d say it was incorrect.

An absolute belter of a game of footy.

The umpiring was great in that they did not panic with decisions and were not whistle happy (like Razer & Nichols). This allowed the game to ebb & flow.

I thought Ryan's tackling in the 2nf half was brilliant and Shuey was a worthy NS Medallist

I totally agree with Monoccular. Totally cringeworthy, and annoying.

The fact that he is American hardly justifies the chant. I don't recall "Ireland/Ireland" being chanted when Jimmy or Sean played. Or "Sudan/Sudan" being chanted for Daw.

Aliir/Kenya, Johanissen/South Africa.

The filth supporters constantly booing/calling "ball" was also annoying.

The old man just texted me to ask who won more finals this year. Collingwood or Melbourne. As we know, it was Melbourne with 2. Collingwood also only managed to beat two top 8 teams for the year. Staggering.

Collingwood also won two finals and beat three top 6 teams, including us.

They don’t understand the rules of the game. Also why does one boo when a player on the other side is kicking for goal? It’s a legitimate attempt to score, there’s nothing unfair about it....

So here’s a question, what did West Coast change/improve to make them go from average final 8 team to winning a premiership? What can we learn from them (given they too suffered a humiliating defeat in the finals last year)?

Losing 2015 was a factor. With Darling and Kennedy up forward they trust them and kick to them (and why not) take those 2 out of the side and they are a shell

On looks he should be playing for Wangaratta, and i'd put $20 that he has the highest skinfolds in the league, but boy o boy what a gun. He is everything Rance is hyped to be.

I agree. And what's great about it is that in 30 years' time Pie fans will still be complaining about it the way they do about 1979 (Wayne Harmes) and 1964 (Ball up rather then Pie free in front of goal with seconds left).

Looks like Lloyd from dumb and dumber. The least likely looking footballer in the AFL.

Absolute gun of the highest order.

Not testing Mcgoverns ribs out was a mistake and the block allowing sheed to mark should have been a free - holding maynard out and then not flying for the ball is against the rules I thought.

Footy season ended last week for me.
Though I'm glad the Pies got done so I don't have to listen to their multitude of morons.

Have a lot of pie friends , over the years have learnt not to communicate after a close loss in a gf.  Work mates are a different matter.

As been noted the  non call of the block will be shown as much as the wayne harmes boundary line knock on. Ill be hearing about for years to come.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
