Not in a million years would I trade pick 5 for Steven May. Jesus! What a disastrous outcome that would be.

I'd rather take a punt in the draft with talent that high, at least you'll get a decade longer out of them!

GC will want a high pick because if he stays the compo pick they get next year will be high.

See DrD’s post above. He nails it. Frost/OMac v Lynch/Riewoldt? v Kennedy/Darling? v Patton/Cameron? Please.

Who are you trying to kid LordNev.

And who cares if it’s slightly overs for May? Freo are likely to pay us slightly overs for Hogan. Swings and roundabouts.

It’s all about winning a premiership now for the Melbourne Football Club. Not forever mining for draft gold that may or may not materialise.

May is a gun. And an absolute brute to boot. Or do you have better judgment than the MFC, Hawks, Bombers and Pies football departments? Coz it really seems like you think you do.

I have no idea 'who you are' (though if you are a poster who has changed their name and not made it clear - eg in the sig block as some respectful posters have - that's all I need to know to assess your credibility) but really you have some front knocking posters, as you frequently do, given you write some very silly things.

As ane example you have zero idea what the judgement of any football department is. All you know is some have spoken to may and MIGHT be interested in trading for him. But no clue as to what they think he is worth or prepared to pay. Other than of course what numnskulls like Sam McClure 'report' - that's to say guess.

Sheesh

Got five weeks not that long ago.  Do you give a first round pick for a 28 year old who's one stray elbow away from a lifetime ban?

Completely stupid post

You have changed the goal posts and gone beyond the statement you asked me to comment on.

Hush.  Don't give the AFL any more stupid ideas.

He joined on Sept 27, but he’s definitely been here before; he referred to @Fifty-5 as “old55” in another post recently, when 55 dropped the “old” years ago. I’m guessing Range Rover or poster of that type. I could probably do some sleuthing to get to the bottom of it, but I can’t really be bothered.

I don't believe the 16 weeks cumulative life time ban applies in AFL, only local leagues?

The ambience on Demonland and most posters ambivalence towards Jesse, not to mention the ambiguous messages coming from both clubs now has Freo in a position to ambush us on this trade....I'm thinking Jesse has been a good ambassador in the past and it's now time to move him on, for the most part I think Jesse has been amble and his ambition for a successful career now lays in his own hands

OK, now that we've done the letter A let's move on to B and head towards 300.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
