While the biscuits have been removed from this thread, we seem to have been left with a few that are crackers.

Only one and a half days left and still nothing.

trade period should be 2 days. its so boringย

It's a bit like a bag of crisps...more air than potato...there IS actually only about 2 days of trade....just , it's spread over 10 !!

Oprah?

had forgotten that Oprah co starred in that movie. It was mainly Whoopi who is remembered for her role and nomination as best actress.

Oprah did star in Beloved.

No biscuits as I recall in either movie.

On SEN this morning Watson said that Freo don't want to make the same mistake they made with Bennell. Hmm interesting comment!!!!!!

ย

I think this has become a "Chinese Whisper'" 'old dee'....

My take was that Watson was trying to figure out why Freo had pulled out of the Jessie deal.

He thought that maybe they were running scared after the Bennell trade, they were jumping at shadows.

For those taking potshots at Watson (an easy target)ย I didn't hear him as saying Hogan was like Bennell at all, just that he couldn't understand why they wouldn't want to get Hogan over the line.

Like many of us he is a bit perplexed at the way they have handled things.

They were both in it, but Soap Oprah is trade steak knives as far as I'm concerned.

Just imagine thatย big buffoon BT calling out Whooopppiiiee when she goes for a mark....

Geez, now even Whoopi Goldberg is being brought into it.

Where does she fit into the trade moves?

Cryptic reference by Dโ€™Land to the trades being d(r) eadlocked.

I believe there is a reason rjay but like the rest of us it is unknown to us mere mortals.

Two thingsย are strange to me.

- Dees put up no fight to keep him

- Freo very interest and have chasedย him for years then at the 11th hour pull out.

There is a reason we just don't what it is. I could guess but the laws of the land prohibit that action.

setting a high price and saying they were just as happy to keep him, suggest there is some fight

but at the end of the day who knows what to believe

i still think theirย no1 option would be to retain him on a new long term contract. the window is open and the mfc need to get going now not at the end of 2019

it would seem jesse wasn't prepared to accept no1 option so this is now playing out (and good for the club being strong)

Demonland hasnโ€™t changed much. A few very good and sane posters but still too many fanboys (and girls)ย who get hurt derriรจres when confronted with sober assessmentsย and clear eyed analysis.

What do you mean put up no fight to keep him?ย Fremantle made an offer and it was rejected. What would you call that?

This idea that the club is desperate to rid themselves of Hogan doesnโ€™t seem based on anything but hearsay. Although I understandย it fitsย a (predictably) negative narrative.

The club has stated quite clearly thatย this has move been driven by Jesse himself.

Enterthestuie wouldโ€™ve been a catchyย name. Opportunity missed.

I've never been good remembering the nuances of posters, but is there a bit of E25 about this old new poster ?

Too many players in limbo:ย  Neale, Hogan, May, KK and possibly Beames (Lions won't let him go if they don't get Neale).

Freo causing quite a log jam so something needs to happen soon.ย

Anyone ready to guess when the AFL will get involved and kick Freo into gear or call in the mediators for the Neale and Hogan trades.ย

The egotistical style is similar. stuie was more of a pedant.ย

Didnโ€™t mind either of their work. Small doses though.

I always wondered if RR was Yze_Magic resurrected.

ย

Melbourne isn't really looking to keep Hogan. We could just as easily suggested he just play out next year etc. But no he's on the trade table. Discussion about the "price" is part of the game, not so much a "fight" in the sense of "hands off our Jesse"ย

Has ETD gone to bed in the last 4 days?ย  I feel like there hasn't been an hour gone by where he hasn't posted something, and even in that time he's said absolutely nothing of note.ย  Extraordinary.

Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals. ย

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturdayโ€™s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFLโ€™s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
