Hopefully we can euthanise this thread soon.

Not I hope before I can mount a detailed argument in favour of the neglected squashed fly biscuits.

Cant believe how little some posters know about biscuits.....

To rate Milk Arrowroots as worthy of being on that list says to me you couldn't pick a biscuit from a cupcake.

Seriously, im losing my faith in Melbourne supporters.

Total nonsense. It's a non-offensive biscuit and its versatility is endless for instance crumbling them up to make rumballs, a famous Layzie family recipe.

But hey by all means continue to twist your Oreos or any of the other cardboard on this list. Seems some people have a lot to learn about biscuits..

I think a few are underrating how good a 23yo who has missed a couple of years of footy will be.

I know you don't like statistical comparisons but maybe an interesting maturity comparison is Jack Reiwoldt who was a petulant, sulking, selfish player at a similar age.

We're not losing Jack Watts here, this is a serious talent.

We need to be well compensated if he moves on.

I fully understand the sentiment rjay,..really I do . Talent is talent...and talent alone..   His application is not consistent. He may well have a few more gears there....  but he'd need to engage the clutch.  He has a problem with it slipping ;)

You’ll never find less of a watts fan than I - but lacking in talent he was not. Highly talented in fact. All came down to work rate with him, which is starting to looking the same with hogan in some ways, but hogan has already far surpassed anything we ever got out of watts.

But he's very familiar with rolling darts... I mean starts ?

So to make an Arrowroot palatable, you have to mix it with other stuff.... kinda reinforces my point. By itself its the very definition of vanilla. Its the type that can only kick one sided and it has no tricks.

Stick to Football Layzie, you re clearly out of your depth when it comes to biscuits.

Just looking at Steven May BnF results, in 2017 finished 9th, this year didn't make the top 10. Pick 5?

And while we’re at it, I want to know whatever happened to Uneeda crackers and Bacon Thins.

On form, he's not worth a first round pick, let alone pick 5. He's not in the top 5 full backs in the league at present. He's been poor-average for the past 1-2 years. Most believe that's due to not wanting to be where he is now, but there's the chance he's just not capable of playing the way he did a few years ago.

If all we got for the best young key forward in a decade was an average full back and a token pick I'd be very disappointed.

Well it might be vanilla but people still like vanilla ice cream don't they? :p

I make chocolate crackles, I hear the odd laugh and guffaw but I make mine with finely grated dark chocolate and Drambuie, in my mind that is a biscuit!

It needs to be taken to the people. With a vote. Not some whizkid behind a laptop writing content for a hip blogging site..

i'm guessing the deals essentially hinge on beams trade happening

my guesses are:
- beams and 2018 third round pick to pies for 2018 first rounder (currently pick 18) and future first
- 5 and pick 18 from bears to freo for neale
- 5 and pick 23 to melbourne for hogan
- 5 to crows for 8 and 13
- 8 and future third to gc17 for may and kk
- may and kk for pick 5, future 3rd rounder

net results:
- pies get beams and the filth's 2018 third rounder
- bears get neale and pies' future first
- freo get hogan, pick 18
- crows get pick 5
- gc17 get 8 and mfc's future third
- melbourne get may, kk, pick 13 and pick 23

@Petraccattack may we’ll be proclaiming genius on the KK thread, however @ManDee has just exhibited it!

You have to view that in terms of what it was in response to DC. ?

May (meets thread criteria) I cite you on that?

Am I going crazy but in what world is Lachie Neale worth more than Jesse Hogan?

Like seriously....

1 is a decent mid who is an accumulator who has happened to win 2 B & F's at a rabble club whilst never coming top 10 in the Brownlow.

the other is a 23 year old key forward who has the best numbers at this age as any key forward in the league. Once in a generation player. The thought that Freo will get Hogan & Change for Neale makes me want to spew.

I simply do not get it....

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
