The club needs to get the next few years right. Losing Hogan is a bad idea, just very hard to replace. The midfield group is where we should be looking for trades.

Boomer has no clue buddy was from Perth, players like hogan don't go back to Perth, there are more chances of hogan going to a big Victorian club, or Sydney.

Why do we give any credibility to the opinions of this pumped up little rat ????

Well that was a big load of nothing. No explanation as to why, other than Freo needing him.

Stick to car raffles, Boomer.

BoOmer has no respect for the dees, he has no idea that he thinks up he just listen to the noise everyone else says, he said on the radio that Gus was slow, it is not true just others said so so he thinks it is true, i always said Gus was fast but many like Harvey heard others say it so it must be true.

Ben Brown runs off with Cirque de Soleil perhaps?

Worry bout your own [censored] house club that nobody wants to go too.

Aww poor Brent is still mad we eliminated him and his minnow club from the 2000 and 2002 finals series.

Cheer up little fella and enjoy the career of Jesse '1 club player' Hogan.

Jeez the wording in the title was really similar to the Jack Viney thread, I was worried he'd turned up on Monday complaining of a sore shoulder and being put into surgery or something!

In terms of him leaving us to go back to Perth I wouldn't put any credibility on Harvey's word, he's not a former player turned reporter with his "ear to the ground" he's just giving his opinion which is based off other opinions. All reports say he's very happy in Melbourne and honestly if he didn't go back to Perth after everything that happened last year I feel like he'll be less inclined as the years go on.

He also looks like he's enjoying his footy at the moment (why wouldn't you when you're hird on the Coleman medal), which to me seems a bit different from his last couple of years. Last year his head was obviously not in it, understandably so.

Remember everyone said it was a foregone conclusion that Pavlich would return to Melbourne.

Its just an opinion piece. Harvey will eventually have to go down the Kane Cornes route (say outrageous sh*t to remain relevant), otherwise he will have to go get a kick in the ams at 45+. Those are his options, but to read between the lines here it is just an article on what Harvey believes may happen. There is no factual basis behind any of what he says - other than Freo need Hogan (which is obvious that Freo need anyone who can kick goals on a consistent basis).

Lol click bait at its best, no inside word just a gut feel from boomer, from memory Jesse recently said the longer he stays in Melbourne the harder it will be for him to go back home.

IMO if Hogan stays at Melbourne come his next contract, he will remain a one-club player until he retires.

He's a Freo supporter, so going to the Eagles would probably be much worse than staying in Melbourne (the city). Lucky for us Jesse won't qualify for UFA status as even including his first year at the club when he couldn't play it brings his total years of service to 7 (unless they lower the FA age limit), plus Freo are an absolute rabble at the moment, and will remain so for the next few years.

As for Harvey spreading this tripe, lol. Must be a slow news week over at SEN, scraping the bottom of the barrel going with that weasel's opinion.

People, please do not even waste your time on the bias media of ours, they are full of s*#@ and only spout dribble.

I'd much prefer to keep him but whatever happens happens. We've played good footy without him and we have Tom Mcdonald who is a better player in my opinion. Averages more goals per game and a far straighter kick. No player is bigger than the club so I feel more comfortable now about Hogan threatening to move back to Perth than ever before.

Excellent....palpitations first thing in the morning after reading the title.

We need another contract from Jesse after 2019. Make no mistake, he’s yet to hit his peak, his forward craft is elite, he’s often double teamed, his movements inside 50 make him extremely hard to match up on and to say we could do without him in the next few years is wrong. T Mac is a star but it’s both that make us potent.

Anyway, thanks Boomer.

Honestly we have done everything right by him, including becoming a good team and letting him play his natural game. If he leaves then so be it, it certainly won’t feel like a case of “if only we did better or did more to keep him”.

Hogan feeling at home in Melbourne by Ben Guthrie 31 May 2018

JESSE Hogan says he is not actively contemplating a return to Perth ahead of his contract at Melbourne expiring at the end of 2019.

"I've lived here (Melbourne) for about six years now and I'd almost call it home," Hogan told AFL.com.au.

"I still love going back to Perth obviously. But with each year I stay here, it's probably that little bit further away from going back to Perth."

Just an irrelevant media personality trying to be relevant

SEN. Just talk opinions. It never is found to be fact.

Sometimes fiction does become fact then they can say SEN broke that first
