I wanted gws to win because I just didn't want to put up with another week of the filth and there fans. Now they could beat richmond and I could not stand it to see them in a gf. If we got through to play them it would be the most nerve racking day ever. I couldn't' stand losing to them.

At least if GWS got through I could have enjoyed watching them play Richmond. I doubt they would have beaten them.

Gee they just got off to a terrible start. I also noticed in the beginning the giants players would look at the pies player when a contest was about to happen. Instead of just focusing on the ball.

I bypassed the final term because I could see what was baout to unfold, but in that 3rd term I saw Jeremy Cameron mark outside 50 and instead of going back just played on and blazed away.

Toby Greene did nothing except flop all night.

Afl rent a crowd .....is that Gil in disguise with the flag? Serious joke.  The afl should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

I know the Pies will get obliterated by Richmond but the mere thought that Collingwood could make the Grand Final makes me physically ill.

Yeah, would have been easier to see GWS smashed by Richmond than Collingwood

Nailed it.

Theres a lot of people here that are happy to flirt with Collingwood potentially winning a flag for the possibility of us playing them in a Grand Final and that’s fair enough. I can’t do this.

Most undisciplined side in the Eight and were duly put away. Do not hold out much hope for Camo's next year as Coach....

they play an unbelievably selfish brand of football

i'm presuming open season starts now on their players?

shiel seems certain to leave on ridiculous money; i remain to be convinced he's worth it

lobb to one of the wa teams

who else will be poached?

Cannot "get" Cameron as a player or person, but i reckon in the right hands he would be a gem. The rest of them would appear to be too spiritually minded for my liking....

would rather t mac, weed and hogan than cameron

would love kelly or whitfield, but that's about it

greene is a superstar but incredibly aggravating and is too often injured or suspended, and ward and davis are gems but too old for our list profile now

Ha ha!  You are right Layz but If we are to win a flag I want to win it against a despised opponent who have a strong following.  Let's make it memorable.

But of course,  it's one week at a time (slaps oneself - back on the straight & narrow)

Well done to the pies a truly beautiful thing. ( Of course they will burn at the stake next week , but no matter)

GWS a basket case of course,  but also no matter .( Scully manoeuvre possibly the AFL and the individuals , greatest disgrace in AFL history and  both are  now woefully exposed as a result. Truly magnificent also).

GWS in great difficulty now like GCS and meanwhile Tassie  still plead.

Gill maybe you should call someone to help.

I hope that Collingwood beat Richmond and play us in the Grand Final. At least we get the opportunity for revenge for the 1958 Grand Final when they prevented us from winning a record six consecutive Premierships (viz. 1955, 1956, 1957, xxxx, 1959 &1960)!

To beat Collingwood by a point with a Sam Weideman goal kicked after the siren would be a wonderful sight (especially if the cameras were all trained on Eddie McGuire)! ?

It seems Eddie's rant last week about a missed free to Cox has paid dividends: https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/a-number-of-touchy-free-kicks-against-gws-prove-costly-early-in-semifinal-against-collingwood/news-story/c8f3688c1ee1a1a1ff2b9e84aee8bfd1

"Collingwood received eight free kicks to the Giants’ two in the opening term.
Those included a number of contentious, “soft” calls — while the Giants appeared unlucky to miss out on some calls of their own... The most controversial fell on the stroke of quarter-time".

No wonder they raced to a 3.6.24 to 0.2.2 lead.  At the end of they day they deserved to win but that sort of umpiring can give the momentum to one team and can be energy sapping to the other.

Yes a Sam Weideman goal kicked after the siren, but as a result of a miss-kick out of the goal square by Jeremy Howe.

There would be nothing sweeter. Nothing sweeter at all!

Just hope I could make it to that point!

Oh God - my husband and I have already discussed this possibility. I don't know if our marriage would survive.....

Seriously though wouldn't it be great. For my general health I would rather have the game won well before the final siren though.

Yes there would, a Norm smith Medal to Weideman!!

I’m with you.  Give me a 60 point thumping to the Dees.  No heart attacks needed.

Write GWS off at your peril, they were massively stuffed with injuries this year. I am glad we are making hay this season because they could be a bloody big road block next year. Reading about the new talent they have coming in kills me.

IF Norm just heard the name, and not the club for whom he is playing, he would turn in his grave like a rotisserie.

But if Weed could pull it off, would it be the final exorcism?

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
