Looks freezing.

Speaks volumes about our culture. I’m certain attendance wasn’t compulsory, yet less than 24 hours after a bruising game they turned up on a cold wintery day.

Great to see a solid contingent of senior players watching the match from the sidelines too.

The cold weather will do them good.

Builds testosterone, and ups metabolic rate, and repairs.

Keep gargling 'warm salty water' boys.

Mitch King has been left out of the side for the second week in a row, this time at the expense of an undersized ruckman in Mykelti Lefau. I think his papers might have been stamped.

Agreed that together with Melbourne’s interest in North Melbourne’s Brayden Preuss, this suggests that both King and Filipovic are on shaky ground.

We were tested and tried but were held on!!!! Bring on the Grand Final!!!!

Just FYI Keilty copped a decent knock to the hip in the first that’s why he might’ve seemed underdone for the game

Well done Casey.   We will win the Grand Final, the Demons dont lose at Etihad.

Gee wouldn't that be something if Bernie got back into the senior team.  He was retired a few weeks ago.

How many will DJ get for the swinging arm?

Great effort by the Casey boys, I watched the middle part of the game but had to go player with the kids, the umpiring was terrible. Glad to see we came over the top after the fl ogs got a little away.

I looked at that many times SloMo. The player has started to dispose of the ball the very same time DJ was starting his hard swing-arm tackle.

The essendon players arms were outstretched forward after flicking a handball... and I think from what I saw, it appears DJ was aiming at the collar bone chest area, and it road up the essendon players upper arms.

Clipping him to the chin/upper chest.

After studying the replays, I don't think DJ was going for the chin, but fate took it.

Dj looked stunned, stopped, as the player went down, then moved towards the play and was attacked from behind by only one opposition player.

He wasn't prepared for attack from behind, and was sort of in an 'innocent of mind' state.

I don’t think the Captain had a stat.

Another great effort Casey Demons, thanks to KC, drunken167, WJ and all other posters. It wasn't sounding to good at certain stages of the game but the boy's stood up once again, only one more win required.

Go Casey.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Dee's.......................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And what support from the Dee's players.

Nice to know we've got a couple of players still pushing for selection.

A little part in the back of the minds of JKH and Vince and a few others will be imagining playing in two grand finals in two weeks. Would also make them the 'human interest' story pre-GF, just for a laugh.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
