Neville because of his life and football 'stories'.ย  He lives by his 'values' both on and off the football field.ย  A truly inspirational footballer and person.

ย

Clarence Oliver is the best player to run around since Robbie Flower.

He along with several others will lead the way and break our premiership drought within the next 2 yearsย

And to think that he was delisted, and but for Roosโ€™ faith in Nevโ€™s potential we could have lost him forever. ?

As an aside does anyone have any updates on his mentoring of Dion Johnston? ย He looked likely to be another lost soul but I gather hadย at least begun (prior to injury) to be being an unsuccessfulย small forward perhapsย reinvented as a small defender, as was Nev himself.ย

Easy for me - Max.

He is honest, loyal, funny and works hard all of the time.ย  ย He is so down to earth and has not let fame change him at all.ย  he is also confident enough to be himself and not try to be what any one else wants him to be - what a great role model.

ย

If I have to pick another (that I am not biased toward), Harmes is it.ย  His improvement this season has been out of this world.ย  He seems like a really nice guy too.

Adding on

I think Jetta is fantastic, what he gets out of himself is remarkable. He is not the most gifted player, not fast, not big but I back him one on one versus anyone, his tackles are fantastic.

The most gifted, skillful, fastest thinking, fastest hands is Oliver. It is interesting that the umpires have worked out how fast Oliverย is and don't ping him for throwing like last year, he has not changed, the umpiresย have recognised his skill.ย ย So in a photo finish Clayton Oliver. Apologies Max the best ruckman in the AFL

It was Nev for a long time. My sons and I chatted to him for about 15 minutes at a family day at Casey, just after shoulder surgery. Top bloke and dedicated to the Dees. Love his reliability and no-nonsense footy.

Until Angus Brayshaw turned up. This kid is everything Iย love about footy.ย  Quick, game breaker, skills onย  both sides of his body, hard as nails, runs both ways, and takes risks.ย

Big Maxย followed by Nev and Clarrie. ย Always have had a soft spot of Oscar too.

Interesting to read through the responses here- moreย variety than I thought thereโ€™d be.

Fourย years ago it was Jesse and probably still is butย too many to choose from these days. They are all unique in their own way.ย

Thereโ€™s something about OMac also, maybe itโ€™s thatย little strut heโ€™s got going on.

For a very welcome change, this is an enormously difficult call.ย  ..........................

100% agree mono.ย  It's hard not to 'like' every post in this thread.ย  We are extremely fortunate to have so much talent on our list, and we should be extremely grateful to our Board, Roosy, Peter Jackson and his team, and the whole Football Department for setting us down this path, and holding the course.ย  To think a player like James Harmes is getting (very deserved) recognition in this thread,ย is testament to exactly that.ย  Isn't it great to be a Dees supporter?

Added sentence.

I bought one of those 160 year jerseys, what number do I get on the back? It's an impossible decision

I canโ€™t separate Clarries skills, TMacs hard work making him so great, and big Maxy!

so happy to see Harmes, Gus and Frosty taking off lately.ย

Max closely followed by James Harmes.

Well, my lucky number is 11 so it should be Maxy. Oliver is the obvious choice 'cos he's an out and out gun.ย

I'm going to say Melksham. He's as honest as the day is long. He'll compete until he cant walk and he'll kick you 3 or 4 goals or put the ball on a teammates chest as easy as shelling peas.

Melksham for me.

ย

Harmes

Smile

Tough

Improvedย

Max. Then followed by jones and tmac.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If youโ€™re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footyโ€”you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Caseyโ€™s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down thereโ€”and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwinโ€™s summer of love.ย Manyย issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.
