No change.ย

Maybe JKH for Spargo but doubt it.

I don't understand y people want JKH in2 the side he is a panic merchant, every time he gets the ball he quickly passes it off, often putting that player under pressure & he is hopeless one on one gets out marked every timeย

I doubt anyone needs to be told about the opportunity that awaits them if they can hit top form and get into the side for the finals.

They made the right call I think. Glad they didnโ€™t do something dumb like bring Bugg in as well.ย

This has to be one of the quietest Match Preview threads for a while. Only 4 pages, last weekโ€™s thread had at least 11-12 pages by Friday night.

Bizarro world when the Match preview thread is shorter than the prime minister thread.ย

Itโ€™s going to be really interesting to see how the players approach his game. With the monkey off the back will it release the doubt and tension allowing them to play more freely? Or will it go the opposite way where the players take things a little easier worrying about missing out on finals due to an injury? Will they rest on their laurels of finally making the finals or strive to get another scalp?

You would hope that a home final (particularly against the cats) would be motivation enough to treat this a huge game and bring finals like pressure. What would really set the cat amongst the pigeons would be if Collingwood were to get the classic Collywobbles against Freo and open the door for a top 4 finish.ย

Itโ€™s not often that the MFC is more stable than the Australian government...ย

You are like a broken record

Remember those โ€˜opinionsโ€™ you kept going on about? No doubt JKH gaveย it hisย best shot when heย played a few weeks ago, unfortunately heโ€™s just not up to it. No need to tell him to his face, that would just be rude.ย

I defended you when everyone was attacking your unpopular opinions about Gaff yet here you are attacking someone for expressing their opinions on a player. Its a forum where people are free to express what they want. Just because you don't like it doesnt mean he doesnt have a right to express it.

This is most likely thought by the same people who think he doesn't show enough emotion at the press conference so therefore doesn't care enough.ย

Cannot agree more with the top paragraph.ย  If we come out breathing fireย with the shackles off, it could be a sign of thatย the team has clicked.ย ย  But if we come out a bit cautious approach it could be attributed to lots of reasons: a stress release, taking it too easy etc.

Your side is better to be settled at this time of year.

At the airport feeling a bit crusty after Friday arvo work drinks turned into a bender at the local watching some classy girlsย jelly wrestling.ย

Iโ€™m not as pumped as last week but still canโ€™t wait to see the boys at the G.

Melbourne here I come. ??

Last couple of weeks have been [censored]ย myself at this time of the week, itโ€™s amazing how having finals locked in can lift the weight off the shouldersย

I was thinking about this last night. If we had lost last week, the whole week would have built up to last night. Instead, it's the least stressed I've felt in footy season for a long timeย

assuming viney is ready for week 1 of finals, who would he currently replace, right now i would say spargo but what do other people think?

If its spargo I'd assume tracc would take up full time residence in the forward line.ย

I really hope we continue the momentum we got from the WC win and continue to play for 4 quarters and not revert back to our old inconsistent ways.ย

This Sundayโ€™sย game will tell us a lot about where our team is at heading into the finals.ย

He is entitled to his opinion on JKH, but do we need it repeated ad nauseum

Keyboard heroes are good at sniping, haven't got the bottle to say directly to the person involved

After training today, expect JKH to play, and Hannan to be out injured.

Bugg to be emergency.

Hannan with injured group.

Made a little quieter as a result of some unfortunate banter between people (not you DZ)ย who have been warned in the past about that sort of thing and had their posts hidden pending possible action by the mods.

If people wish to make personal ย accusations about other posters, there is a procedure available - personal messages to each other in private and even then take care.ย

The rest of us are more interested in the football than peopleโ€™sย vendettas.ย

ย

Team looks strong, relatively mobile and the final players on the bench will need to be carefully and purposefully selected; we can win this one with pressure and tackling applied across 4 full quarters - and kick a few goals from that as a team-wide reward. Dees by 40 points, I'd reckon.

Gws looks sore and battered.ย

We looked reinvigorated last week.ย

I hope this stays the same and we get the chocolates tomorrow.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
