No change.

Maybe JKH for Spargo but doubt it.

I don't understand y people want JKH in2 the side he is a panic merchant, every time he gets the ball he quickly passes it off, often putting that player under pressure & he is hopeless one on one gets out marked every time

... I really hope Goodwin tells any Melbourne listed player playing at Casey that these next two weeks are opportunities for them to make selection really difficult for the first week of finals.

I doubt anyone needs to be told about the opportunity that awaits them if they can hit top form and get into the side for the finals.

They made the right call I think. Glad they didn’t do something dumb like bring Bugg in as well.

It’s going to be really interesting to see how the players approach his game. With the monkey off the back will it release the doubt and tension allowing them to play more freely? Or will it go the opposite way where the players take things a little easier worrying about missing out on finals due to an injury? Will they rest on their laurels of finally making the finals or strive to get another scalp?

You would hope that a home final (particularly against the cats) would be motivation enough to treat this a huge game and bring finals like pressure. What would really set the cat amongst the pigeons would be if Collingwood were to get the classic Collywobbles against Freo and open the door for a top 4 finish.

Give it a rest hero

Either that or tell JKH to his face

You are like a broken record

Remember those ‘opinions’ you kept going on about? No doubt JKH gave it his best shot when he played a few weeks ago, unfortunately he’s just not up to it. No need to tell him to his face, that would just be rude.

I defended you when everyone was attacking your unpopular opinions about Gaff yet here you are attacking someone for expressing their opinions on a player. Its a forum where people are free to express what they want. Just because you don't like it doesnt mean he doesnt have a right to express it.

This is most likely thought by the same people who think he doesn't show enough emotion at the press conference so therefore doesn't care enough.

Cannot agree more with the top paragraph.  If we come out breathing fire with the shackles off, it could be a sign of that the team has clicked.   But if we come out a bit cautious approach it could be attributed to lots of reasons: a stress release, taking it too easy etc.

At the airport feeling a bit crusty after Friday arvo work drinks turned into a bender at the local watching some classy girls jelly wrestling.

I’m not as pumped as last week but still can’t wait to see the boys at the G.

Melbourne here I come. ??

Last couple of weeks have been [censored] myself at this time of the week, it’s amazing how having finals locked in can lift the weight off the shoulders

I was thinking about this last night. If we had lost last week, the whole week would have built up to last night. Instead, it's the least stressed I've felt in footy season for a long time

If its spargo I'd assume tracc would take up full time residence in the forward line.

I really hope we continue the momentum we got from the WC win and continue to play for 4 quarters and not revert back to our old inconsistent ways.

This Sunday’s game will tell us a lot about where our team is at heading into the finals.

He is entitled to his opinion on JKH, but do we need it repeated ad nauseum

This has to be one of the quietest Match Preview threads for a while. Only 4 pages, last week’s thread had at least 11-12 pages by Friday night.

Made a little quieter as a result of some unfortunate banter between people (not you DZ) who have been warned in the past about that sort of thing and had their posts hidden pending possible action by the mods.

If people wish to make personal  accusations about other posters, there is a procedure available - personal messages to each other in private and even then take care.

The rest of us are more interested in the football than people’s vendettas.

Team looks strong, relatively mobile and the final players on the bench will need to be carefully and purposefully selected; we can win this one with pressure and tackling applied across 4 full quarters - and kick a few goals from that as a team-wide reward. Dees by 40 points, I'd reckon.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
