at the game - it’s clear sydney’s positional structures and where they run is far superior to ours.  we look scrappy - they look polished.  partially it’s coaching and partially it’s our lack of maturity i reckon.

Pederson kicks the goal but Oliver being manhandled, what the hell do we have to do for a free kick?

Geez, I know we’re not settling the world on fire but a decision our way wouldn’t go astray!

Gil says no.

Another year of failure. Thanks Dees, the most reliable peehearts in the competition.

Get stuffed. Don't know how many times you can get supporters hopes up only to fall over at the line time and time again. Missing finals this year, after last year's capitulation, will be the final insult.

You arent going to win too many games of footy with Tyson and Jones on both wings

They've had 12 free kicks. I've counted 8 from Nichols.

We are not playing well (we're witches hats), nonetheless, the club has to at least ask the question of the AFL.

We have the players but what this and the Hawthorn game show is that we don't have a Head Coach who is smart enough to get us a Premiership.

Honestly jonesy i love you but if you’re playing injured just give up your spot. You’re so behind it atm

they are 2 players down.

we haven't played finals in 11 seasons.

why is Jordan Lewis on Papley.. whyare all our defenders so slow

Horrific stoppage work by us to give up whatever ghost of a chance we had.

Cheap easy goald..

Who the hell is on Papley? Where Hunt??

[censored] midget [censored]. No opponent either.

Also #freekickswans

Our chasing has been pathetic and second effort chasing does not exist.

if Jones isn’t injured he is shot.

Agree the umps (Nichols) are quick to pay anything that looks like a free to the Swans, yet continue to give us nothing.

Well what do you know, Nathan Jones missing again when the heat is applied, wheres his admirers now? An ordinary player his whole career.

Who said Sydney were easy beats? I knew they'd come out firing after last week, too many good players.

Goodwin again clueless in the box.

We are so [censored].

Still think the AFL is rigged.

The bald [censored] of an umpire hates us.

Always next week. We need to kick 5 golas now. Can't see that happening.

5 goals down and its game (Season) over.

If we cant beat the Swans with their injuries we have zero hope against WCE and GWS.

Cant wait for the presser describing the "learnings" from today.

Actually thought we could win today.... i really did. Guess that will teach me to believe in this mob.

Lesson learned.

4.2 to 6.4 that quarter.

they are 2 players down.

we haven't played finals in 11 seasons.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
