Goodwin can go get [censored]. I’m sick of his stubborness. Put McDonald down back and we win.

I am disgusted that we lost this game. Honestly I’m so tired of being disappointed with this club.

Gutted but we played a good hard game. Hawkins was possessed and the difference.

No. I'm sick of this apologetic [censored]. If you lose the game, you didn't play a good game. We've lost 4 games under ten points. This is a consistent flaw and they don't deserve any credit.

5 goals up and we lose.

They kick out from full back and go end to end without a Dees player touching it. With only seconds to go.

My son asked me what's the score. I replied "under 5 minutes we are 2 points up - but we rarely win close games. Watch the Cats get easy possession and kick a goal".

I feel absolute shite right now.

begone Frost, Joel Smith and JKH - never darken our doors again.

Frost actually got within a few metres of Hawkins while O. McDonald wasn’t in the same postcode.

8.0 to 3.5 in the last.

Another important game dropped. What's that, like, 6 now for Goodwin? In 2 years? Has to be under pressure now. Staring down under year out of the 8. Talent across the board and losing games like that against old men.

I [censored] hate Geelong. I [censored] hate this sport. I am over it.

To go down to Geelong and lose by less than a goal - can't fault the effort.

Suspect that JKH has played his last game in a Melbourne jumper, and we really, really missed Viney, felt like we were one mid down all game.

Not only that, why listen the the idiot fitness guys and rotate him on the bench for so long in the  the last quarter while the cats took over in the middle and got momentum back in their favor.  Just go with what feels right FFS!  Those extra few minutes he could have come on earlier may have cost us the match....along with a couple of cheating umpiring decisions that swung the game back the other way when the Cats where down.

The 50 meters against Harmes when he was clearly leaving the area (Nichols) and the free kick to Ablett when it should have been holding the ball against him in the last quarter which IMO completely changed the face of the game in the Cat's favour gifting them a crucial goal.

It was ours to lose and we did.

8 premiership points gone in the race to the finals. Top 4 spot now forfeited.

Heart breaking stuff.

Goody way too slow to move our boy off the man Hawkins. An embarrassing match up that in the first 15 minutes of the last, turned the game.

i said as soon as jkh missed that, that we will stuff this up and not be able to hold the ball up for 30 seconds. Poor defending.

We are now 6th and could have been 4th. Gutted, [censored] off and mad.

I get your point though and I don't want to start a discussion on it.  Too shattered for that.

I’m not gonna talk about it either.

I am too angry. Frost was a better option that our dumb coach tried far too late.

How long can we keep being losers?

Again the laughing stock of the AFL

This club is exactly what everybody outside the majority of this forum thinks it is. Soft and gettable.

Our defence is a disgrace. We are on the verge of wasting one of the most dominant midfields going around. How many games can you lose with 60+ inside 50's?

We really missed Lever and Hibberd down back tonight as well.

I agree, though - our effort was immense, and I thought we have halted the momentum when they got on a roll when Tom put us 8 points up.  But we couldn't kill it.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
