West Coast blowing some easy chances, Howe is no good one on one.

Pies looking wobbly. Big finish ahead ?

Wobbles big time. West Coast pressure immense.

Who jumped up into McGovern's face ? Might have some answering to do

Thank you eagles just turned $10 into $26.50 which just went straight on maxy for the Brownlow

Could this be the weekend I dream about. Melb win, losses to Hawthorn, Geelong , Richmond and Collingwood. (be still my beating heart)

Would've been the perfect weekend if Richmond won and Sydney go on to win. Ah well, can't have it all!

I note Collingwood are still yet to beat anyone good. Have they defeated anyone in the top 8??Of course, we'll hear nothing of that from the biased blowhards in the media.

Just the dees

Sad to see Nicknat go down with another big injury. WC seem to have lifted by the news of that. But will hurt them in the long run. Their awesome second half could be a dead cat bounce.

Would prefer a Kangaroo win here. It would leave us 5th after the round having leapfrogged Sydney.

I'm no rocket scientist, but I am pretty sure moving up the ladder is a  good thing.

As long as we can knock off Geelong and Adelaide then yes i agree.

That is a really good win by the eagles. They lose there ruckman so Id would have thought Grundy would have dominated. He didn't even take a mark. Howe isn't a 1 on 1 player. The pies also have dropped from 2nd to 4th.

Also bucks shaved his beard off. People will blame that for there loss.

This Etihad surface is still a [censored] disgrace.

That is exactly right. Nicnats injury may help us over there greatly. It usually isn’t until the following week that the injury shows itself to the team.

Aliir Aliir is killing it.

A few weeks ago Freo dented Adelaide's finals chances over in WA. Any chance of them repeating the dose v the Power?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
