I reckon Vince has been dropped..

Looking at that bench I reckon you're right.

And as much as I love Bernie it would be the right call.

Always excited to see a player make their debut.  In recent seasons they've been able to be brought in to the side when they're ready, and even though Lever being injured may have fast tracked it a little, from all reports his form at Casey has been good and he deserves his chance.

I'm with dazzle - I think Vince may also miss out as I can't see us asking T Mac to ruck with his slight injury, and I would have thought we will never go back to someone like Harmes doing it, so Weideman or Pedersen will also get a call up as well.  Final side may be:

In:  Weideman, Petty

Out:  T. Smith, Vince.

Pedersen or Stretch, depending on what they want, would be waiting in the wings for a late out if T Mac doesn't get up.

Geezus i will have another heart attack if Stretch replaces Plugger. I love the kids dedication, but cant see him making the grade long term. Loved his old mans guts back in the day, but his boy isnt the same quality. Hope one day he makes me eat crow, but until then............

I knew someone would take this post seriously. In the not too distant past it might have been me.

I’m thinking they’ll bring in Spargo for Smith.

I think Weed will make them top heavy and then one less player to apply forward pressure.

I only mentioned him as he's been in very good form for Casey and he gives us something relatively similar to what Bernie does.

I still think they would go with Pedersen so we have our usual rotation of three forwards (Hogan, Weideman, Pedersen with Gawn resting forward) but you never know.

Fair to say that Frost should be on the phone with his manager as we speak. Last in the pecking order and there’s no subtlety about it.

From that bench I’d be picking Weeda, Fritzel, Spargo and Stretch. Spargo back in to reverse the silliness of replacing a small forward with a slow inside mid, and Stretch to reward good form and replace Harmes who just doesn’t do much for me.

I expect it will be just the two changes with Vince to make way. We’ll likely kick a gazillion points and all will be rosy until we play a half decent side again.

I have doubts about TMAC. Smith is 2nd ruck so the weed should play to replace him with TMAC missing. Side seems a little tall.

Must say I had imagined that Petty would come in for Joel Smith but it looks to be for Bernie V.

Good luck to young Harry.

As to all the other inclusions.. who knows. Interesting to speculate that if Tom Mac doesn't get up would they play both Weid and Pedersen. Looks like it could be a chance. I would say that the Weid is back whatever happens

PS...or perhaps as Demons11 suggests ... Spargo and no Weid

I think I’m in the group that feels Vince might be dropped, has been declining this year and it might be time. Also could be a little bit of an example to younger guys to show their position isn’t safe.

A lot will depend TMac’s fitness and how he feels. He was saying 50/50 earlier in the week which doesn’t exactly build up the confidence in him rucking as well as playing key forward. If he plays I feel like he will play closer to goal which means someone else will have to take second ruck duties. Pederson or Weiderman.

I’m picturing the final bench being: Harmes, Tyson, Spargo, Peds/Weids

Agree with that, maybe Stretch for Tyson or Harmes would be the only other realistic possibility. If it's Tyson, you'd have to start to wonder about his longer term future.

Frost though ... these selections put him a long way down the pecking order, even though he was written up as the standout in the Casey backline last weekend, so ??

Massive danger game coming off a gruelling battle vs a fresh and emboldened saint team coming off a bye. Attitude will be the most important factor at the first centre bounce and opening 10 minutes. Expectations have shifted now to these being winnable games, I just hope the boys don't think it will be easy. They will try and exploit us with speed and pressure, let's match them and bring a finals like do or die approach. Obvious points, but we've all seen what happens when they're neglected.

Hope the Mac brothers are fit after last week

Massive danger game for Alan Richardson! Go demons.

We were ordinary until our last quarter vs Essendon, that was the beginning of our streak. #Justsaying.

Mr Hannan very lucky

He might not have gotten much of it, but he still kicked 2 and hit the scoreboard 5 times.  Did better than most in that regard.

What's wrong with 5 straight?

Nothing.  Just making the point that he put himself in goal scoring opportunities 5 times, which outside of Tom McDonald was better than anyone else.  Deserves another crack.

We don't want the bald one, or the fat one.....we must be due for Adelaide reunited....

I think that both of these <people who toss> are out there tonight performing in front of the big crowd Toiges v Swans.

They don't let them perform in  umpire two games in a weekend do they?

Looking like....

Ins:  Weids, Pedders (*if T-Mac doesn't pass), Spargo, Petty

Outs:  T. Smith, T-Mac*, Harmes, Vince

To be honest, WB, I don't expect him to kick set shots and I don't expect four quarters from him

At training today when they split into the VFL group and the AFL group, Spargo was with the former so I don’t believe he is in the mix. Weids for Smith, Pedo if TMac doesn’t get up and Stretch in Vince out.

Vince has been named on the bench quite a lot the last few weeks. Wouldn’t read too much into that. I think he needs to go though.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
