Hmmm. For what it worth, I think the umps have been ok.

almost ban-able, surely!

If you compare our forward syngery this week with previous weeks, it is miles apart. I don't know how many times Petracca knocked over his team mates and then fumbled the ball.

We've been rattled by the Collingwood affair and seem to be lacking confidence (Hogan and Petracca in particular).

+1

We are a couple of kicks away from smashing this. Open the forward line a little. Push Hannan and Melksham wider. TMac, Hoges and Tracs within 20 metres of goal.

Umps trying to even up the game again. Been saying it for 12 months. Last two nights [censored] obvious

stats can be a bloody nuisance during a match.

umpiring stats should be kept private from the umps, until after the game.

Missing a small forward likeJeffy. He would have got two by now with the amount of inside 50 ‘s we have had.

Yep and have said it all along

T smith Fritcsh, Harmes Neal Bullen Hogan all very poor!

Career defining game for some!

We should be well up! Inside 50ts Obliterating opposition!

Don't think we can do it

Endeavour great but No finishing class

Over it!

We are smashing them everywhere except for the scoreboard. Hinckley will be telling the Port players they are lucky to not be 10 goals behind. We’ve missed easy chances and our forward entries have been a disgrace. TMac and Hogan must be scratching their heads wondering what the midfield are thinking.

I see one of two things happening.

1) we keep dominating the clearances and continue getting multiple inside 50s whereby we will actually get out sh_t together and win in a canter.

Or 2) they work us out and we kick ourselves for not taking our opportunities when we had them.

For those getting stuck into hogan, he has covered the 5th highest distance on the ground. He’s working hard but not being rewarded by his team mates

Hogan convering 7.6km for 6 disposals

Certainly feels that way. I can understand the Tyson in move, but Tyson for Spargo has left us a small scrapper down.

But there are a few players we're not getting enough out of, even if the intensity is there: Harmes, T Smith, even a few in the backline even though the ball has hardly been down there: Salem, Joel Smith. I can understand them keeping Fritsch up the ground because of his ball use, but we need a couple of smarter players closer to goal.

Hogan is not the problem. Port are successfully holding us up at the wing, flooding, and he is surrounded by 4 or 5 guys at every contest. There has been zero adjustment. He needs to move up the ground and we need to be cleaner across the middle of the ground. It is not so much delivery going forward that is killing us. We are simply allowing them the freedom to flood.

Not saying he is the problem just that he is out of form. Friday night and a big game is were he should dominating. Instead he is missing chest marks and not reading the play.

How could any sane person say that was not high on Viney?

Good goal.

Why is max tapping goal side when rucking in defensive 50?

was about to post how long for us to kick a goal this quarter? Good to see it wasn't another 10-15 minute dry-spell.

Too bad about the quick reply

No one is having a go. Running that distance is of no use if you are paid to be a goal kicker,

he just doesn’t seem to know what he should be doing,

That was a better set up Bull

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
