Well...3 former Dees put in strong performances in the SANFL today to try and get a spot next week against us, none more so than Trengove. 27 disposals, 13 marks and 2 goals.  Barry also had 27 and Watts kicked 3 in a winning team.

Like Ethan said, the short break might go against them this week but it would be good to see Trengove get a game soon.

I hope they all get elevated.  :)

Wouldn't trouble me at all to see Trengove tear it up against us.

(Provided we win, of course.)

It's not that short a break given they played on the Thursday.

I was talking about Trengove, Watts and Dom Barry pushing their claims to get a senior spot this week. Those 3 played yesterday in the SANFL.

It’s a five day break for the ex-Melbourne players who played SANFL.

Those three might have pushed their claims, but Port blew the Dogs away on the weekend.  I highly doubt they'll make wholesale changes to a winning side.

Apologies. I misunderstood your post.

I dont think any of them will be playing off a 5 day break. I thought Port would have kept him aside from the Sanfl team to come in against us.

It does us a favour as the media attention is not over blown over Melbourne's decision to trade him.

Part of his problem was the poor culture & development of the MFC which gifted games to players who didn’t earn the right to.

No. He was a boy who had his confidence smashed early, was never given the appropriate support  and consequently failed to develop into the player he could have been as a result.

It’s like we married Watts... til death do us part we’ll keep having the same arguments about why it didn’t work.

We may as well recruit him in 2021 for nothing and get some closure.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
