Another very average performance by Trac today.

He drastically needs to improve his tank over the next pre season and shed a few kilos if he’s going to become the player we think he can be in my opinion.

Is a run in the Magoos on the cards?

Probably the most uninspiring 50th game I can remember.

Needs to sort himself out or he will be at Casey quickly.

Nah.. he's too good for Casey but he does need some work.

A few quarters in the mid field or down back might wake him up. Really not sure but that's what we pay the coaching staff to work out.

Off to Casey after today.  Not sure what’s wrong?

Hasn’t gotten over his chance encounter with Lebron James and is too busy writing his AFL Hall of fame speech.

I would have zero hesitation in replacing him with Tyson right now.

Absolutely zero.

Could do with some time at Casey.    Might light a fire underneath him.... he seems to think it will all just happen for him and that hes a star already when hes been average all season.

Needs a wake up call and needs to stop cruising.

Busy practicing shooting hoops for the footy show

McGuire knew exactly what he was doing when he invited him onto the footy show before this game it's all gone to his head.

We got built up to be knocked down by all and sundry, we looked tired today no excuse  i hope my observations of today are right and we come back after the bye firing on all cylinders.

That made me puke. FFS -He'll be on Bachelor next. I don't think Trac is going to split the atom any time soon so where are the club's advisers.

Paging @stevethemanjordan

The bloke is definitely in a rut.  Hasn't been the same player since his finger injury.  He should be past that by now, though.

I know for a fact that McCartney loves him, but also acknowledges that he frustrates the coaches because he doesn't do the hard things often enough.  Will do the flashy thing, but sometimes won't run hard enough to get to position or run hard defensively.  He needs to build his tank and improve this if he wants to be a midfielder.

In a rut??? The blokes done sweet [censored] all the entire year this far. Needs a monumental rocket shoved up his ass!!

Petracca for Wines.

Fair swap.

I thought he was dangerous in the first half. His tank is however average, needs to lose some weight and get fitter

Trac needs to be more selfish. passes too often when he could nail goal himself. This turns a 15 possession game into a 15 possession & 3 goal game

Definitely expected  more from him this year. Still think we will be a very good player, but he should shadow Oliver for the remainder of the year and the off season to get himself in the best shape possible.

Needs to lean down quite a bit.

Also not sure why Brayshaw was played on the wing all day? He has been killing it in the middle and I don't remember seeing him in the starting midfield setup at all in the 2nd half. Strange.

His goal kicking accuracy is woeful.

Port would laugh at that offer unless we also had a top 10 pick to go with the trade.

Horribly overrated on this board is Trac.

He has the physical attributes but I'm not sold on his footy smarts atm.

On form so far, I tend to agree.

Your boy Hyphen was exposed as having zero situational awareness today.  Needs to take the blinkers off.

Petracca and bath water a good mix at the minute.  He has done nothing yet!  Clarrie makes him look ordinary.

Biggest disappointment of the year for mine. He’s capable of so much more but has gone backwards and just doesn’t seem to have the drive of others. He’s looking like a slightly better Sylvia at this stage.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
