Like your style of thinking, Mr Leg!

What are everyone's thoughts on trading pick 22 for a player that:

1) averages 25 touches/ 6 marks a game,

2) kicks a goal every second week,

3) is a genuine winger perfectly suited to the MCG

4) is one of the best runners in the business:

5) and has played 43 of the last 44 games.

Yeah nah we suck, Mahoney sucks, Goodwin is so desperate, we over pay we are getting bent over let him walk in the PSD that would be the ballsy decision to make ?

Kidding...

p22 is a very fair deal for both parties :) if he was an elite kick (which hopefully he develops) he would be worth a top 10 pick

We will have him in a couple of days.

I get the feeling that Bell might be trying to mend a few bridges from last year and show that he will trade reasonably to then put the pressure on elsewhere, like St.Kilda.

If we're a fair way down the path with him and Freo already, then I'd suggest our second rounder (or a future second rounder) is what has pretty much been agreed upon.  I think most supporters assumed that would be the price from the outset.  I think it's a fair deal all round if it's the outcome.

Thinking about it more I'd be rapt if we got him for pick 22.  he finished 5th in their BnF this year and 4th last year.  he is one of their best young players about to hit his prime.

trying to think of a rough equivalent from our list.  maybe Salem or Harmes.  would we be happy with pick 22 for one of these guys?

probably those two are better than Langdon but you get my point.  Freo will rate Ed highly so we should be prepared for that.

I think if we give Freo P22 for Langdon, which i think is totally fair, its probably spot on,  then we will split the pick. 2 picks in the first round.

After Bell messing us around last year, I would offer them next years 2nd, & hold that position. It’s not how we operate though.

Would be nice to do it for next year's 2nd rounder. That draft is loaded with academy and f/sons

Langdon for a second rounder would be one of the better trades im seeing.

He is only 23, an absolute line breaker, top 5 in the B and F at Freo and looking at his stats is getting better every year.

and instead of Lewis and Jones on the wings, we can play Thomlinson and Langdon there, with Oscar Baker the apprentice in waiting.

I like this idea. Would give us a bit of run off half back. Depends on the price though.

Mahoney will probably wash Bell's car for free too.

Yeah, maybe.

Harmes > Langdon > Salem IMO.

Back to back top 5 B&F finishes for Ed strengthens Bell's claims for pick 22.

The only way it gets done for next year's 2nd round is if Freo have a few academy players next year they need points for.

Cal Twomey has said next year's draft is weak, but stacked with academy and F/S picks (apparently 17 of the 22 U/17 futures players are already tied to clubs).

They have Liam Henry this year, there's no point in them having pick 22 because that will get swallowed up by points when a bid comes for Henry in the 10's. Freo should want picks in the top 10 and then not another pick to 40+.

A future 2nd rounder and something else (swap of 3rd's and 4ths) to give them points this year to use on Henry is as valuable to them and allows us to keep the pick.

Langdon for 22 is fair for both. The longer it takes, I fear it will be due to Fremantle wanting more.

Nope both teams should wait and be more creative. There's no way we will pay more than pick 22, that's the final offer, there's plenty of other things to look at first.

Out of interest would you take pick 22 for Salem?

Reckon he's northward bound Mr Leg.  I doubt the Pies will be able to match the roaring Lion coin.  Plus he gets an extra year in the sun and fun.

Also was a star in the pies losing gf in 18. Looked cool under pressure

I am pretty sure it was 17 of the 44 (between the two teams playing) but it still will be incredibly compromised.

Yep- I think he’s an absolute steal!

The common belief for some time is that he’ll go for our second; I’ll take that any day of the week.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
