What a great result.

I got it wrong as I wanted Gawn and Spargo rested. Both were awesome

A murder of Crows

Just got a run out tee for $40 on the demonshop. Best Sunday ever.

Great to read these comments.

A time to celebrate and a time for reflection. We have all had our opinions along the way but we are the Demon Army. No time for smart a....... to say I told you so.

A time to join as one.

Is it just me, or does the singing of the song speed up a little bit more every season and make it lose all impact?

The boys can't even enjoy it any more because none of them can take a breath!

Slow it back down lads!

Winning games is no longer a big deal for us, we don't carry on after each win like we used to.

I love it.

U mean when we used to raise the flag and go up to it? Another classic Schwab idea

A couple of fun facts:

Our lowest score over the past 3 weeks is 146 points.

Brayshaw and Petracca combined today for 59 disposals and 6 goals.

Too late.

I reckon former Demon Luke Beveridge might have a few sleepless nights trying to plan match-ups for next Saturday.  Where the Hell would he start?

15 mins into watching the game.

Wow. Ball movement, spread, marking...all of it! So good.

Then I saw Hunt and Pedo running laps while the game is on. THAT says it all to me...

Started going to the footy in 65, 66. Remember 64 but too young to go. This is simply the best side I have ever seen. 87 was a brilliant emotional ride and The Reverand’s   every second year teams were giid fun and ripping personalities - but this team goes way beyond that! Got to make it count now.

On the journey with you Brother!

I just really loved the fact that for a large portion of the last quarter Adelaide were out-playing us and we had every right to take the foot off the pedal and coast to a seven goal win, but we stuck at it and kept our incredible 18 quarter winning streak going.

That's a huge mentality change in this club.

It is a difficult week.  What can you say?  It has been a long time since I have seen such a complete performane - from any club, let alone one in the Red and Blue.  I dont know how I feel.  But I love it, and want more of it.

I love Goody’s straight bat presser.  Not getting ahead of himself.

My god.  Tent pole in the Y fronts territory!

My boss is a mad Crow, he even sqwaks after goals, so much so that even though he lives in Melb he will tune into 5AA radio when the Power loses...

I really enjoyed going to Adelaide with him last year for the Dees game and had a $50 bottle of wine on today’s result... I’ll be putting witches hats around his desk before he gets in tomorrow.

That was one of the best games I’ve ever seen us play in my 40 years. Bring on the next 2 weeks and hopefully some great footy to boost member numbers and get a few people who may have left back on board.

Short turn around and after a 4 quarter effort and warm day, some may need to be rested (none can be "dropped"). Will need some fresh legs against the quick Doggies.

Ha Ha!  Superb!!!

As I posted somewhere else, if we can keep the midfield healthy, hungry and inform we will be very hard to stop from here on in, as we will be more consistent game to game.  A midfield of Max, Jones, Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw, Tracc, Hogan means we are very competitive, every week!

Agreed, DD.

No changes based on form, but there's also no extra credit for naming an unchanged side for another week.

The shorter week, faster paced game, heat and the fact we're back at that [censored] hole Etihad next week might necessitate a few changes.

When Danger played his first game for Geelong and dominated I set up a “Danger Zone”, do not enter with around 50 pics of Danger and the do not enter tape. Lots of fun.

The additions of Brayshaw, TMac and Viney have finally given us the perfect balance we’ve been after.

Youngsters Fritsch and Spargo really contribute and it’s almost impossible to see anyone get dropped from this side other than a run of poor form or a rest .

Out Depth is the best ever, with players like Garlett, Tyson, Pederson and Hunt who would almost walk into most sides unable to get a game at the moment.

A few weeks ago I had ANB back at Casey but since then he's been magnificent.

Me too, happy to be wrong! We all knew he was working his butt off off the ball but things weren’t clicking for him in terms of finding and using it. Boy has that flipped around!

I managed to wake up to see the 2nd quarter onwards, call me a pessimist but I’ve seen a few games where we’ve burst from the blocks and I’ve started watching from there only for us to fall into a heap so part of me was just hoping to see us go on with it. To use BT’s catchphrase, BOY OH BOY WOWEE did we ever go one with it.

The crowd had maybe a couple of little dips where you thought they were trying to find a way into the contest but every time we did we just managed to halt their momentum and reload for another burst. Even the 4th quarter when the game was over and they were winning the quarter we just reset and managed to get the last 3 of the game.

The two players I am so happy for right now are Gus and Lever. Gus had such a difficult road back and many wrote him off, but he is easily playing career best football right now. Lever must’ve been feeling a bit of pressure coming into this game but if he did he sure didn’t show it. I’m still on the fence about how much we have up for him but he is delivering in spades now.

Also want to mention Gawn has been a monster in the ruck the last 5 weeks and also played a good game from memory against the tigers. He is definitely going at AA form.

Finally I have to say Hogan is proving to be a pleasure to watch week in week out. Some weeks he’s not getting the goals, instead he’s setting them up, today he did both and more. 5 goals (no behinds!) 20 disposals, he is absolutely flying!

So many more players I could mention (really could go through the entire 22). I also just want to say I’m finding Daisy Pearce to be one of the best boundary riders going around at the moment with her analysis at ground level. Maybe just needs to polish up some of her interview techniques. ?

What an awesome day!!!

The other thing I love is I have an almost 3 yr old and another on the way, looking forward to them seeing some good teams over the next 8-10 yrs rather then the dross (with a few years of fun in between) most of my age group and younger have seen.

So we are currently the highest scoring team in the league.

We are also the #1 team for marks inside 50.

I think I might have to stop complaining about the poor delivery to our forwards.

Also on the forwards today:

Hogan - 20 disposals, 11 marks, 5 goals.

TMac - 18 Disposals, 7 marks, 2 goals

T Smith - 19 Disposals, 6 marks, 2 goals

That's a hell of an output from the tall forwards today.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
