His kicking was excellent! He certainly played well. Watching from the fence I thought he was in our top 3 players today. One of his goals was on the back of him winning the ball at half back and beginning the chain. Terrific reward for effort. As usual, covered the most distance. Weirdly i'd be more confident against them at Adelaide oval then in the NT. How about just concentrating on beating whomever they put out there. Best or second best, we just need to beat them 3 hours ago, DaisyDeeciple said: 1st Win I have seen live since 2006 (I am officially not a jinx and can contemplate a return trip to Australia just before the racing carnival. Am trying to remember the last 100 point win. Tom McDonald, several goal assists to go with 4, BOG for mine. that running back with the flight of the ball and putting his right hand out to juggle and gather the ball was the prettiest piece of footy all day. Saw Melksham at Jerry's milkbar this morning in Elwood, with his wife and kid, so left him alone, have always thought they made a good breakfast, worked for him. Oliver need a TV to see his work, I understand why the umps have no clue whether he throws, impossible to see sometimes he is so quick, his hands are up there with Muhammad Ali for speed. Lever close to BOG, best game I think I've seen him play, getting better every week. Smith got better and better. Lewis is putting together his best set of games for Melbourne at the moment (sad to say, but I think he's playing like he might finish this year, he is really putting it all out there) Vince needs a spell, couple of times when I thought he could chase and didn't, and he is under the microscope every time by the umps. Hannan - I guess his defensive pressure is what justifies his place, he's not in for disposal efficiency. Gawn, did some great things. We had the crowd I thought, for a Carlton home game, was seeing far more red. Loved the team game, they are always looking for the goal assist. We were lucky with umps, got the rub of the green. I would have felt stiff as a blues fan, especially the free for holding the man when the Carlton player ran back with the flight of the ball (mark of the year that wasnt) super brave. Speaking of which , the umps seem to make it quite tough to call a mark a mark. I have only watched the first half so far, but I was appalled b6 the numbers of incorrect disposals the Cheetas got away with and the inconsistency in the interpretation thereof. 3 hours ago, Demonated said: What a game that was. Even contribution across the field. Viney was pretty ineffective but will be much better for the run. For those saying that Hogan didn’t impact the game, I must insist that you look at our goals again. He must have directly assisted 4-5 which is a ridiculous number. He has become a supreme team player this year. Last year really transformed his from a boy to a man. Our best player wth Max so far this year. We have momentum now. It’s a 50/50 game against Adelaide next week, win and we really set ourselves up for a good year. Hogan officially recorded as 4 goal assists but in the first half at least he contributed in many other ways This even spread has become a real strength Quote
loges 6,767 Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 Smart arse Cripps saying on radio how much he's going to enjoy playing Melbourne because of what happened last year. Well don't think he enjoyed the day very much at all. 1 5 Quote

I suspect his security hangs on the remainder of this season. They are going really well, right now 2018. I just checked their draw to read who they've beaten, and most don't really impress me, but even the Tiges aren't a shadow of the old Cats and old Hawks. What this shows me is that the competition has evened up more, than i had realised last year. Beware the Swans in 2018_ Quote

titan_uranus 25,255 Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 It genuinely feels odd to see a scoreline in which we won by 100+ points. And I love it. The big tests are still to come, starting with Adelaide. But, when we were 2-3 we all knew we needed to win these four games, and build percentage, to set up our season. We’ve done exactly what we needed to. 2 Quote

RalphiusMaximus 6,112 Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 I loved that today. Everyone put in. We kicked them when they were down. I even saw a few players shepherding for each other which is virtually unheard of for us. As an added bonus I saw an effort being made by our midfield to try to hit forward targets instead of just bombing every time. Also, What a game from Timmy the Bull! No goals, but plenty of quality work crashing packs and fighting at ground level. 2 Quote
