Why cant this club stay away fro m this type of  Bu$%*hit  promotion  Adds nothing to the club and diverts attention

Concentrate on Playing and training for the next Game

Carlton will not be easy and we need to put 100 % effort in to beat them

Im sure others have said but filmed months ago ya pelican haha.

I assume this was paid for by iSelect ie assume iSelect sponsor Masterchef.

Not a great fan of Masterchef's hysterionics, but it's great PR for the club. Building a brand, getting new fans on board. Jonesy is a great ambassador

Then I would’ve kicked him square in the bollocks.

But seriously, he thought he was Pele but was slow as treacle and a hack kick.

It was good to see the boys get some exposure on the TV box however that show is absolute poo. Don’t ever deconstruct my dessert and serve it with quinoa.

this is the kinda [censored] that makes the general public ask if we are getting ahead of ourselves.. who cares about exposure?! get exposure by playing a tough, exciting brand of football!!! jayzus!

Who cares what the general public think. And how does appearing on a cooking show make a player get ahead of themselves? I can’t make the connection.

Edited by Ethan Tremblay

the connection is, you don't deserve attention until you've earned it. we haven't. and the club seems to intent on pushing the 'image' before we've even got a clear idea of what we are on the field.

It's all part of the mix 'Rocky'...

As PJ noted when he arrived, we're in the business of football & I'm sure it's not lost on the club that on field performance is the priority.

Things like this give us a bit of profile & after years of being the ugly step sister it's time we stepped out of the shadows & weren't afraid of being relevant in the football world.

Who cares what others think.

Don't be scared of the exposure, revel in it.

Having a strong brand draws sponsors, players & fans.

Cant believe some have got themselves all knickery about this.

MasterChef Australia....for the culinary challenged or simply unwashed is about the most watched English language cooking show ..  .in the WORLD !!

Let that sit for a moment....

I repeat...WORLD.

Its audience is measured in 100's of MILLIONS worldwide.

It showcases Melbourne the City...as the beacon and gastrononical capital of Australia.

And so on this show that is very Melbourne....  they have as their ELITE Team of Athletes...the MELBOURNE Football Club.

You can't buy this type of exposure. Is worth its weight in Saffron.

Would make sponsors very happy.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
