Keep digging, the same Shuey that missed 5 games? That really impacted Gaff didn't it?

At least chose Naitinui if you want to show you have any knowledge of football.

-  Saty if the Demons were chasing Redden

As obnoxious as he can be, Saty is entitled to his opinion.

Only thing that counts against you Sat, is that you cannot find a negative thing to say about any Dees player, but cant find much good to say about a bloke who gets 20 bazillion touches every week, and displays traits that are an identified weakness in our list.

BANG!!!!!

(walks away...)

With Slone re-committing, the big cash from Norf, Saints and Hawks will focus on Gaff and Lynch. Hope we've got big space in our cap. I'm concerned we still have a couple of dees yet to put pen to paper

All reports seem to indicate we can re-sign Gus etc and fit Gaff in.

I wonder who North and Saints are going to convince to re-sign next?   please offer a Mil for Gus and he will sign next week

Maybe uber $ isn't just what GAGF is after. Maybe it's more / a premiership. I mean if the weagles win this year he might stay on or think on the balance of probability they're unlikely to go Back to Back so might up stumps. So, of the potentials - north saints and dees - who is going to offer the best combo of $ and opportunity. Dees.

Realise that Tim is a Saints supporter for a start, I haven't found him to be WA biased. A bit of a screw loose at times...yeah.

...but I guess we wait and see on Gaff.

I would be looking for the next player about to make his mark or not getting opportunity and targeting them rather than or in conjunction with a big fish type player anyway. I'm sure we are...Yeo & Dockerty were taken out of Brisbane and became pretty decent players. Maybe there is one at GC, I know the AFL wouldn't be happy but it's not our job to prop up GC.

The Tiges have some small forwards maybe worth a shot.

Weaknesses identified by who?

The experts on here

David King

I don't deny he gets a bazilllion touches, but it is what he does with them, he goes missing when the heat is on

With the three i mentioned all playing well last week, it gave him the opportunity to rack up the touches

His inside work has only appeared this year and is inconsistent

He reminds me of Priddis with his accumulating but not hurting, how Priddis won a Brownlow still amazes me

I have an opinion on every player on the Melbourne list, but there is enough vitriol and denigration of their playing abilities already on this forum

As you can see, apart from yourself, the ones who replied are those that require validation, apart from the one that just seems to explode from the excitement these days

As I said if the club decides to sign Golden Balls, that's ok with me,  I have no say in it

Hopefully Yeo, Redden and Shuey all stayas well, Gaff draws his powers from them.

If he stays I am sure we have a nice backup plan.

Or Maybe Gaff was the backup plan?   Josh Mahoney is very good at this stuff.

The same Tim Gossage who said Sloane was gone and two years ago Hogan was a lock to go home.

Edited by Ethan Tremblay

Gossage said just two weeks ago that Adam Cerra from Fremantle was very gettable at the end of the year, even though contracted. Fremantle and Cerra's manager all came out soon afterwards and said Cerra was looking to extend his contract. Gossage was made to look a right dill.

I think Hogan could be the missing pawn to our side. If we could find a suitable trade to bring in 2 quality wingers, that would make us a formidable side. Richmond have shown the best model for a forward line.

That doesn't mean that model for a forward line will last forever.  Things change constantly.  In two years time sides might be screaming out for 2 key forwards as one team wins the flag on the back of it.  No need to trade out someone as talented as Hogan to suit another clubs style of football.

I fail to see how it could be, considering you've made it clear you don't rate him and are now using childish, 12 year old names (Golden Balls) when discussing him.   That all goes out the window instantly the moment we sign him?  That doesn't make sense to me.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
