Probably more money and get to play with his brother at Freo.

I just don’t like it when these things drag on through the season and even though he is saying the right things, there ain’t no signature on paper yet.

Time will tell.

Riddle me this (with this non riddle)

What if

Angus takes off

But we have Gone and Got Gaff and whatever we get for Gus....

I’d rather retain Brayshaw and bring in Gaff.

It's not the be all and end all if he chases money and goes to Freo to play with his brother. At least he has built up some huge currency. Would have hated to offload him for cheap and then Gus showing what he's doing now over there and we got back peanuts.

Totally non Melbourne to build up his currency first before leaving

Maybe the tide has turned

Oops did I just say that out loud

I would like to keep Brayshaw and develop him as one of our own stars of the game.

Sure.

That goes without saying so I said it anyway playing devil's advocate/I'm being silly again.

It bears thinking about though.

(Why hasn't he signed yet)

Brayshaw won't leave. At the start of the year I thought he was trade bait, midway through the year I thought he was getting plenty of ball but being wasteful, rushed and turning it over badly. Now there's a level of composure and a familiar position to play in given he has regained confidence from his concussion issues.

He's gonna be a jet and a must keep for our flag tilts.

Why would he leave?!

Probably look to move on with his midfield mate, Jack Viney.  ☺️

Its not the be all and end all. I agree. No player is the be all and end all. We have seen that with Danger leaving Adelaide and Buddy leaving Hawthorn. Brayshaw would be a massive loss for us though. Sure, he has built up his currency, but he is trending upwards at such a rate that it is reasonable to assume he improves next year as well. This kid can seriously play, but more than that, he is doing so off the back of re-adjusting the way he goes about attacking the football. Its pretty impressive. Viney had to do it. Brayshaw is doing it. Those type of guys you don't want to let go. If Brayshaw goes to Freo we would need to be looking at getting a player the quality of Cerra in the deal.

Nice scooter Nathan.

I like your parka Clayton, it really suits you.

Jack, are they a new pair of Chelseas? Wonderful.

I believe that was an impression of Saty fawning over the other midfielders and commenting on their mod-like attributes.

Evaluating the worth of Brayshaw both from a dollar and trade viewpoint would be a challenge.

Interesting to see how it works out and where he fits in the relativity spreadsheet. Just hope North don't come in with a silly offer as they are prone to do.

Gus deserves the success he is presently having as I am sure we all agree.

Glad to see some sensible words about Tom Scully. In hindsight many of us over reacted.

Be surprised if went anywhere..

Be MORE surprised if Uncle Jimmy's travelling circus doesn't open the cheque book.

North are an embarrassment of rejection. They'll be keen.

just the alternate view, but why wouldn't his brothers want to come back and play with him???

They may want to but they’re currently contracted past this season where Angus isn’t. The media are just chasing a story. Angus to Fremantle currently makes a better story for them.

I was a little tounge in cheek - and also it was irrespective of contract situations... mostly little bro's follow the big dog in the house :)... or go the complete opposite way of course :) and yer bang on @Ethan Tremblay..whatever sells the papers.

Well, certainly a far better story than anything about Ross's Freo on field 'achievements' since their GF flop only a few years back!

Very sensible for Gus to play out the season and up his market value. Imagine if he signed a contract extension at the start of the year versus now. Would be a 200k pay gap...

Most likely juicing $ from his contract as much as he can before putting pen to paper if he continually proves his consistent form and ability, and rightly so.

So we may one-day, get Zac Jones to the Dees ? ?

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
