fwiw shaw backtracked at a million miles an hour re trac going to the filth on 3aw

became much more of a 'every club would be looking at him!' vague statement rather than a determinative 'pies are gonna get petracca woot woot!' statement

QB Demon clearly said that Collingwood is the third biggest team in terms of financials and membership no.s yet you try and twist his post into a preposterous claim that Melbourne is bigger than Collingwood. Give it a rest.

Does anyone know who Trac's manager is. If its Paul Connors beware. He is Ollie's manager. I will not forget the Judd debacle.

It's not Connors, but it is his agency. I believe he is managed by Robbie D'Orazio.

Geez Petracca was quiet vague in response to his future by Robbo on AFL 360..

Yeah didn’t want to put it to bed. If I was him I would have just said that I’ll be staying. Then at the end of the day it’s up to other clubs to offer the coin to drag you out the door.

Yep, thought he had a real chance to put it to bed and kept repeating a rehearsed response "I'm contracted for two years and the club is 3-0 and playing good footy", which is funny when I type it it reads positively. He then gave a relatively weak response to "do you want to be a one club player?". Which he replied with something along the lines of "yes, of course I do". I certainly feel worse from seeing that, than I did reading Shaw's comments on the weekend. Trac had a real chance to put it to bed eg "don't be ridiculous, I love the club, i'm not leaving" kind of statement and he didn't go there. It's a new era...who knows?

I have no issue with Petracca not saying anything, nor should he. He's contracted for the rest of this season which is has just begun and next.

He'll be looking at his true big pay day and his manager will be telling him there's no point rushing in to anything now.

We need to get Oliver, Salem and potentially Weideman locked away and then the club can go to Petracca's management. I don't think he's the kind of player where you'd even do a Wingard/May style pre agency trade either, you're going to keep him for as long as possible then work it out.

I doubt Cripps is going anywhere but he and Carlton are still negotiating and he's the captain! With such a tight cap and star players keen on big deals it's a really tricky process.

No he didn't..  reminded me a lot of how Jesse Hogan use to respond.

None of the players ever answer that question directly anymore...they are all well coached by their management

Would you light money on fire if you were him? That's pretty much what committing to staying does. It also probably becomes more of a story than the cliches. The cliches are useful because they really mean nothing.

Until the club puts an offer on the table and rival clubs do the same there's no point worrying about any comments.

Legit, the best thing Dees fans could do to help him decide is turn up for games.

no more freo turnouts.
Everything else is out of our control.

Some hilarious responses to Tracc on 360. As if he would say one way or the other.

Players leave options open now.
Contracts mean nothing

The more games we win, the better the odds all our core players stick around.
2019-2020 was disappointing

Yep 100% - let's just hope we keep winning right? If we do you'd expect this to take care of itself

Not sure how else Trac could’ve answered the question. It’s not like his contract expires in 6 months, we just completed Round 3 and he still has 18 months to go.

It is entirely in the hands of the Club.
Time to perform on the Big Stage

Our Home Ground has 100,000 seats

We should have ALWAYS been a Destination Club.

He gave standard responses to standard questions from Robbo

Move on

Jack Riewoldt answered the question for him in a much more reassuring way.

But anything can happen in 2 years. And he’s definitely here for at least that.

We were winning when Hogan left. Your war cries won’t get the job done.

You mean the Hogan who left for Freo and is now at GWS.

Good point...

Correct.

Also manages Trac.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
