I cause he sign up he is Italian, what u Skips don't understand is as Italians are the most loyal people on earth, Italian AFL  players really leave there first club

Now thats the type of Petracca-ed contract signing  I like to see. Its a beautiful thing...

Huge signing. Unlike the past 10 years, our young talent is all extended and sticking fat for the journey. Great to see!

Keep working hard Trac and you’ll enjoy success in red and blue with your mates!

I love the use of the plural in premierships. Arrogance and talent can be an exciting mix.

Pledging his loyalty to Melbourne, Petracca expressed how important it was for him to remain a one-club player.

“It means everything. The club put faith in me as an 18-year-old kid and drafted me, and all I want to do is repay that faith,” he said.

“That’s by winning premierships and staying at the club for as long as I can."

A couple of typos in there but l think we get the gist of your point.

First hand, l can confirm ltalians once trusted, are one of the most giving and loyal cultures around.

Once betrayed, stay well away!

Love what CP5 has done, to return the club's faith in him.

MFC is slowly building and binding a very high class list for the years ahead.

Wonder, and if ever Mr Connors has tried to incorporate the word loyalty back into one of his contracts.

See, once Trac said the word "loyalty" it was all over...........

Ch 9 news reporting Adelaide were into him.

Wonder how many other clubs had interests. Oh well crows, thanks for Lever though.

They wanted him last trade period as part of the Lever deal.

That’s a bit of a myth.

Purple made that up on radio, he ask  Mark Ricciuto, if it was true that Melbourne offered 2 first rounders and trac for lever, mark said where do I sign. Purple just makes thing up a bit like a  scattergun rumour maker.

Great news. Obviously would have liked a slightly longer deal but this is the way it is. Gonna be well placed for a bumper deal come 2020.

I’ve never heard that one, and it just sounds outright ridiculous.

Adelaide’s list manager inquired into Petracca as part of the Lever trade. I heard Justin Reid state this on trade radio. He said Melbourne and Petracca’s manager swiftly declined.

St Kilda stuffed up SO badly with their first pick. This guy was a no brainer.

You can build a list around him.

Apparently he was thought to be a bit immature, yet all I see is limitless enthusiasm, loyalty and an unbridled team focus.

I absolutely love this kid. I’m pumped about this extension.

Super pumped!

Fantastic news. It'll send a huge message through the talented young group we have.

Just as an aside do you notice that CP5 jnr's neck is thicker that big bucks. Just wait until he grows into the Truck.

How this for timing - I literally just opened my four year old son’s new membership pack.

On the front of his membership card, it has a photo of Petracca. He’s Henry’s favourite player - Henry thinks he’s a real life T-Rex.

On the back of his membership card, it says ‘Consecutive years of membership: 6’.

I signed Henry up as a 20 week old foetus - exact full name and accurate (future) date of birth. Pretty confident he’s the youngest official member in the history of the club.

He’s already waiting for his signed birthday card from the red and blue T-Rex.

I’m relieved he’s committed to this club.

That last line probably covers the feeling of 40 000 others RB

Another positive step forward for the club.  We all know what a fantastic player Trac is, but he is also a terrific person and just the sort of personality you need at the club.

It's more great news for the MFC and I can't wait to see him tearing it up through the middle this season and beyond!

Interesting

I assume he got a raise for 2018 and then a good amount for 2019 and 2020.

Must have meant that they had some salary cap movement left for this season which is no surprise given the renewals we are facing at end of season.

Well executed by the club and would love to see one or two others signed in the next few months.

How much is the foetus membership?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
