Small forward standing at 177cm, kicked a bag of 7.2 in the TAC Cup Grand Final. Kicked over 50 in the TAC cup season. Realistically, looking to go somewhere between 30-50. Jason Taylor has said we are looking for small forwards in the draft. Could be the small forward we need?

I watched the TAC Cup grand final and he was unbelievable. Did some seriously freakish things.

Would not be disappointed to see him in the red and blue next year and beyond.

I think in this draft kicking 7 in the TAC grand final and having good athletic ability won't get passed pick 30. Maybe even top 20.

Not sure about the name but the guy can play.

Anyone have info on what his defensive pressure is like? If that's up to scratch he'd be a super pick up. If we have a high enough pick....

Not sure regarding defensive pressure. He has freakish talent however.

I was listening to trade radio and a few brought up his name saying he might slide. If we can hold a pick somewhere between 25-35 I think that’d be enough.

Interesting player.

A pure footballer.   I don't  think he possesses great speed or endurance but gets it and uses it.

Slippery and agile but I don't see him as the new breed of small forward.  Clubs will be wondering about what role he will play moving forward.

I wonder if he makes the transition into the midfield like a Sidebottom or Rockliff?

There's a bit of boom or bust about him.  You could get a Maric you could get a Rockliff

Due to the limitations of this bloke in terms of his testing, huge chances he will slide. And if he does, expect us to nominate him with our first pick.

Watch this space.

U can't be impressed with kids kicking goals at TAC games, they have zone ing rule the forward line is more open,  Blake Hardwick kicked 56 goals in a TAC Cup, he does not even play in the forward 50 for the hawks, so u can't even compare it at AFL level.

Bump. Slid to pick 57 as I predicted. Would kill for a small forward like Miers right now. ?

I was an advocate for drafting him. He looks decent. Solid role player, no fuss. Has the right attributes to make a decent career as a small forward. He’s just what we need and unfortunately we missed him. Now we move on and hope Bedford etc come on and fill that role.

Sadly your prediction is only half right.

Another one missed. Add Charlie Constable.

Miers was predicted as a 20-30 draftee. Went # 57

Constable was predicted as a 15-20 draftee. Went # 36.

Hardly a surprise that both are very good players.

The way we've been playing the first 2 games the kid would have been lucky to get a touch with us.

He's no superstar yet, may end up a handy player but he's on the end of some pretty good work at the moment with the Cats flying....

Would kill for a Miers type in our fwd 50 right now - Although I do blv Jeffy will be I’m for a cracker year from next week onward

Yet we take Spargo with a top 30 pick, a slow midget with no tricks. Not saying Miers is the answer to all our problems, but there have been some bizarre selections over the past couple of drafts.

Lucky he kicked a few because he burnt his teammates a couple of times who were in a better position than himself. Seems like a selfish turd who could do with a good haircut and a bath.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
