2017 Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Memorial Trophy

Again, look at the top 5, listen to the speeches made, and tell me the club isn't sending a subliminal message to us all.

If you adhere by our level of standards you will be recognized and rewarded. Pretty simple.

Hibberd missed a few games at the start of the year, but still, so did Jones, Viney and Lewis. I know they are the coaches and and all that, but bloody hell, that is ridiculous.

Hibberd did get hurt by his opponent in games even if looking good rebounding out of 50. Not to say he was poor of course but some games where he looked close to BOG his opponent had kicked a few goals from memory.

After all the threads over years slating our draft choices, rest assured we absolutely nailed our first pick in 2015.

Well done Clarrie you are going to be something special

It's a staggeringly poor decision. Absolutely absurd. Viney the second best player this year? Spare us please. He looked embarrassed to accept it.

It isn't "a decision", it's 4x22x22 decisions. It's a surprising result but unless you're accusing the coaches of intentionally rigging the scores per game, it's pretty hard to argue with.

I knew the kid had a good year but god damn to win the b&f in his second year.

Well done Clarry

Absolute freak. Even Viney can't keep up with him ?

Imagine how good he'll be once he backs himself in to kick and attack more, such a great pick by the recruiters

Oliver absolutely Shat it in! What a fricken legend!

Pleasently surprised to see Trac get 7th above t Mac

Clayton booked in for media training at 8am tomorrow I'm led to believe. Not sure why..

Agree

All confidence I believe. Hopefully Clarry realises now he belongs, he's going to be a real jet once he does.

Loved his speech as well. All genuine no AFL Training

Poor old Clarry mixing a gut full of beers with an obvious cold. ?

Recipe for speech-disaster.

What standard was Lewis meeting when he was sitting in the stands after being suspended?

Come on.

Lucky Clayton can play footy that's  all  ill say.

Not everyone can have the elegance and class that you clearly have daniel

Surprised by Lewis.

Hibberd missed 4 games and Jetta none, so on average votes per game he would have come 4th.

Interesting results. Hannan and Frost above Milkshakes? Petracca above Garlett? Jones, Viney and Lewis above Hibberd? Viney 2nd? Coaches pet!

Can't argue with Clarry romping it in though.

Jones, Lewis, Hibberd and Jetta just about a tie.

Seems pretty accurate. Hibberd unlucky on paper, but when you look at the votes, he was more or less equal third, difference is miniscule.

Good to see ANB polling well, hope it spurs him on to bigger and better next year.

Splitting hairs. Decision. Decisions. The votes aren't plucked out of a hat.

Great effort Olivef & shows what hard work can do ..

Rapt for Jetta as has worked so hard!

New recruiters Hibbered & Lewis top 6!

Frustrating to see Watts come 21st..

Wow! 20 years old... Best & Fairest!

2nd year player. Hardest worker at the club.

Well deserved you frickin Legend!

This kid listens. Told to pull his head in and look what happens. Wow! The Dees have a very special player here...

Cant wait for 2018.

I am sure.he will get better at his speeches. There is plenty more of those too come.

Yeah Petracca another great performance in only his second full season. These two and Viney are gonna a fearsome midfield in 5 years.

It's not splitting hairs at all. You made it sound like someone "decided" Viney should be second, when clearly that's not what happened or how it works.  You could challenge the individual votes which is where all the subjectiveness is (which we haven't seen and for all you know, could be perfectly valid), but by arguing against the final result, you might as well be arguing against the Microsoft Excel sum function.

ANB had fantastic year. I expect him to take his game to another level next season.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
