Apparently Jarman Impey was dancing with Melbourne players in the footy show revue, which obviously means nothing much, but he is on the trade table according to rumours and matches our need for pace and could release Hunt or Hibberd to play higher

Who knows but l here he could be on the way out.

53 years  here...and still waiting.. for a bus that may never come

None of us are alone in this.

I think you're waiting for the wrong bus BB. There's another bus that's very regular, usually departs by around round 5 but was a bit late this year. I believe the route is Melbourne - Reality

Going by Demonland logic, that means Impey, Varcoe and SPS are a chance to play for Melbourne next year!  Quick, someone email Jon Ralph with the news!

No need, mate. Demonland's his Bible.

From my prespective Jack's performances are still good enough for our best 22. Judging his year after a couple bad weeks coming back from injury is stupid.

Yes but is that because our top 25 are nowhere near good enough? If we improve the list is he still going to be best 22? That's the question.

Our top 25 is good enough, maybe a few additions can make it even better sure. Jack is in and around our best 22. Jack Watts as your 22nd best player is a sign of a good squad imo.

I would've agreed with you a month or so ago, but surely if they're good enough we play finals this year? I'm 50/50 on this, and I'm a Watts fan. I posted elsewhere that if we're getting rid of his skills they need to be replaced. If he goes for another inside mid I think we're done for 2018, look forward to more handball circle work/jerk.

We need to be brutal this trade period, but we can't afford to lose Watts unless we're bringing in a LOT of silk. I'm waiting to see what the trade is. I'm open to it, but we need to pick up some skills because we've developed sweet fanny adams in that department over the last 10 years.

We ain't that bad, we had a [censored] ton of injuries to deal with all year. A lot of the players returned to the team 'not ready' and we lost a lot of our pressure. We also played most of the season without our best FF and Ruckman. I don't understand trading Watts when our forward line is [censored] poor. If Hogan isn't playing we are relying on T.Mac as our only tall.

Omg this is crazy time

ins. Lever. Impey. Balic. Pick 64

outs. Watts. Kent. Pick 10. Pick 27. Pick. 45

Impey for Watts.  A joke. Goodwin would be happy

Pick 45 for Balic. A joke.

Lever for 10 & 27. At $800k a year, a huge risk

Kent gets us pick 64.  The wasteland area.

Agreed.

I don't understand/like it either, but as it stands it looks like he's gone. I'm reserving my judgement until I know what we're getting back.

Apparently Silvia's been offered to Impey as a role model as a sweetener.

Thanks FITB.

Surely a forward line for talls of Hogan Pedersen Weid and Tmac. Wow looks patchy.

Four talls too many. At what age are mosquitoes eligible for the draft?

How many years until young Farmer is available as a FS pick?

It would have to be at least 2 wouldn't it? No guarantee he picks us either. I heard the Wiz is back in Melbourne working but got the impression Kobe is still in WA.

Not the point. Or not the point in isolation.

While not every player can be Daniel Cross in their preparation and in pushing themselves to the max (also a characteristic of Goodwin as a player), there's still a minimum that's required. From everything we know, Jack W is falling short, best 22 or not.

He's just not hungry enough, and if that's still the case after 3 years under Roos and 1 under Goodwin, then it's time.

God only knows what he could have been if he'd had Crossy's attitude.

Actually Crossy's view on the Watts situation would be really interesting.

Especially being an ex-Bulldog.

A couple of Crow mates at work tell me there's rumours flying around about Sloane being on the move.

Can our South Australian correspondents shed any light on this?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
