And he's leaving...? Is that still happening? Any intel?

He might. He's applied for a job at another club after being demoted.

Quite pleased to be getting Ben Brown from the Kangaroos. He looks much better in a Demons jumper! ?

Hope he has an excellent pre-season and gets nice and fit for the 2021!

We just gotta make sure our midfielders lower their eyes and kick the ball to him on the lead.

The next question will be if he will continue wearing the number 50 or choose a different number?

Geelong traded 30 to North for Shaun Higgins.  Let that sink in!

Geelong pay premiums for anyone aged 30 and over. It's club policy to keep their list as old as possible.

Unless Essendon are going for this yin/yang thing, I couldn't see Mahoney working with Dodoro.  One gets [censored] done, the other is a pest.

Essentially we upgraded 26 to 25, 31 to 28, and then got BB & future 4th for 33 & 43. That's well played ??

When you look at the business we've done over the past few years:

- Hogan out for May which is turning out to be a huge plus

- Langdon one of the best pickups in the comp this year for a second rounder

- Benny Brown basically for Preuss

- This year's 1st round lucky dip draft for Kozzy

- Likely 200+ gamer for pick 50-something  (Rivers)

- Burgo in our fitness dept (worth whatever we paid)

People often lament on the Lever deal, but I reckon we've come out well and truly in front. Now we just need to put the pieces together.

So in effect, Brown for Preuss. I think on the face of it that's a fantastic result.

Agree great deal for the club

It's hard for a Dees fan, not to love Mahoney's work at this tome of year! We now have the center-pieces around which we can build a decent forward line.

Even if Brown does SFA, watching Norf fans bleed makes this deal worth it.

Actually pick 32

Seems maybe he's already in the right place, for us and for him....

Ah my mistake. Thought it was a bit later than that! Good business none the less!

From Marc McGowan on Twitter: Roos trade Ben Brown, R2 (28) and Future R4 Selection (63*) = 789 points Dees trade R2 (26), R2 (33) and Future R4 Selection (76*) (currently tied to the Brisbane Lions) = 1292 points Ben Brown = 503 points (pick 36) * Assumes Roos and Lions finish in same spot as 2020

I reckon BB is worth 2x first rounders. So this a steal, but Norf will bottom out again next year and the next...

So they will re-build with high draft picks.

And they'll love their hew home in Tassie

Not that it matters much but he also seems like a ripper fella off the field. It takes a very likeable character for me to still like them once they pull on a Norf jumper. Very happy he’s now a Demon.

Welcome BBB and good luck in red and blue

Love to see someone try getting a premiership medallion over that mop of hair ?

Ex North players to Melbourne. Stephen Icke and Brian Wilson were pretty decent. If Brown comes close to them it will be good.

Admittedly, it was a highlights 'package', but he took more one grab marks in 4 minutes than Melbourne took all bloody season.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
