Couple of paragraphs below of article on herald sun website, has kingy been reading demonland lol

MELBOURNE fans are annoying. They’ve been complaining for years. Whether it’s their recruiting department, Mark Neeld, Jack Watts, Casey Fields, can’t win at Etihad Stadium, tanking — the list goes on and on and on.

Former coach Paul Roos described it as the “veil of negativity”, but why has it gone next level?

“Too young”, “no finals experience”, “they can’t handle expectation”, “a bit gimmicky”, “who is their best 22?”, “want to see it next week (always next week)”, “can’t do it across four quarters”, “player X always gets us” …

Enough, Dees fans. Get on board and embrace it. Enjoy it.

Two things:

Not convinced King can comprehend or read.

Wgaff what that [censored] writes ?

He doesn't like Melbourne much ( if at all )

He's quick to pot us , here's a case in point.

Or not.

It doesn't work if you copy and paste the link that worked for you. You have to do the google search yourself using the articles headline.

So I see. Worth the effort though. Relieving to see some pro-Demon articles of late.

Just surprised David King can read and write. He served me a couple of times in years gone by at the hardware store next to Arden Street ground. Not the sharpest chisel, I must say.

I bet he could tell you some statistics about that chisel though.

We better get a Demonland password happening!

Agreed. He has to get a few things right.

Yes he certainly reads this website!

"Hello David"

If I was writing an article for the hun I would be all over demonland! Some of the best and worst stuff is written here.

It's about time we get some love in the press

Funny thing, I've done a bit of proof-reading of English-second-language people, uni essays and the like, and there were distinct moments during that article I was noticing the same mistakes.

Strange way to lead off the article, too, have a moan about a non-existent 'problem'. We Demon supporters have been remarkably cheerful over the miserable journey. Maybe Kingy needs to ask Flanagan, you know, that guy who actually spends time around fans.

Hey David. My son did Auskick nearly 20 years ago (at Kew.) You turned up. You were great with the kids.

I've always remembered that. Thanks.

Im not sure why the negativity really. He just came out in print and tipped us as possible premiers. hes about the 3rd now and  THAT hasnt happened since ...actually cant remember anytime in my lifetime that has happened. Its hard to believe and feels like Im opening up to a bigger hurt if it all goes terribly south. And its hard not to feel that imagining it wont somehow jinx the team.....like moving seats in the middle of comeback or something. But, god strike e down for sayng so,  it is exciting to contemplate this.

You've got to know the good from the bad though (no self respecting HS journalist would take on the best stuff. Only the worst for them).

Yes Flanagan, someone who can really, and properly, pen words.

King is right.

Take the lid off and enjoy the footy with  expectation.

They all want to get into the rooms after the games for bloody scoop interviews now.....

Exactly.

He correctly said Neeld was finished and should be sacked in his first 6-8 rounds as coach, if I remember correctly.  Six months after one or two keyboard warriors, but a long long way before the fence-sitting, hesitant nellies that make up most of us.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
