Demonland 74,392 Posted June 25, 2017 Author Posted June 25, 2017 It was a pleasure to wake up this morning and not have multiple reported posts to deal with. What a difference winning makes to the life of the admin team. If only my kids could take a leaf out of the behaviour of Demonlanders the morning after a win.

Yes I saw him for first time a few years back with son in tow as a budding guitarist. He didn't know what hit him. Actually I didn't know what hit me as I hadn't realised how much NY was into grunge & heavy vs his ballads. Think he might have sung one ballad or two max on the night lol. Well Melbourne into Storm for the premiership double this morning is still 35/1.....he's often referred to as the Granddaddy of grunge. You know why when you see him live. I think he's touring again soon..

Shuey was charged but it was careless with low impact to the head. That's a $1,500 sanction, down to $1,000 with a plea. If Viney is charged, he might get careless and medium impact to the head. That's 2 matches down to 1 match with a plea. The issue is whether or not Viney gets charged at al. Dale Thomas got off because the MRP said he was contesting the ball, therefore no reportable offence. If the MRP says Viney was contesting the ball, then he should be fine. Otherwise, he'll get a week (assuming it was "medium" impact as it forced Hurn from the field), yes, correct but they both certainly jumped at the ball his eyes were always at the ball not Hurn

The MRP care nothing for your "logic" and "common sense".

Back to the game 1. We are the most competitive Melb side in my 45yrs watching. 2. Jack Viney is the toughest captain since Voss and without him we would have lost. 3. Max Gawn is a class act 4.We are never beaten 5. Our Premiership window is open and we could do this in 2017 6. I don't want to trade Tmac anymore. Were you the guy in the red top ?
Ned 156 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 I haven't felt this way since 1987. God it's good. Go you mighty Dees!
At Least I Saw a Flag 5,353 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 I don't think Hunt's effort in that last passage of play should be overlooked. He made a good contest to keep the ball alive.

McQueen 17,867 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Well, my planned 3 month abstinence from beers failed last night but after completing early 8 weeks I'm not too disappointed with myself - particularly because I think a celebratory drink was justified. I did however manage to lose my wallet with my mates Eagles membership card in it which I haven't got around to telling him about yet. The last minute was excellent given that I was surrounded by smug Eagles supporters listening to the radio saying "only 40 seconds left... only 21 seconds left now... bad luck mate". When Tmac kicked that goal I turned to the whole bay and went fecking nuts. One bloke called me a c$&t while giving me the finger which was nice. Probably in return for telling him earlier to cover up his hot chips in case 'Gaffy' jumped the fence. Last night just reconfirmed to me that WC supporters are a bunch of sore losers.

She looked at me strangely, as I was standing right in front of the TV shaking my fists in a more animated version of Goody. It took me a while to explain we'd just gone in front with 20 secs to go because I was panting quite hard. she understood in the end, I think. Took me a while to wind down! 3 of us at a mates appartment... 5 stories up... his missus had just jumped out of the uber out the front as Hibbs kicked it into the goal square with 40 seconds to go... she heard us from the street going mental!!! She thought her fella had invited more people over we were that loud. It was brilliant, a game where we were injured, down on class and for most of the game I felt outplayed... but you know what we [censored] WON IT!!!!

Seriously, that umpiring from about the second quarter onwards was pathetic. Frost tripped, Hibberd grabbed over the shoulder, Melksham penalised for a West Coast player falling over. We need a supporter with too much time on their hands to make a video with them all like the nuffie Collingwood supporter did. So many eagles goals from frees. It was pathetic. That blatant push in Oliver's back in front of the umpire as if he would not be pinged(which he wasnt) says it all. Our win made it so sweet.

Gorgoroth 13,216 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 The umps were ok fo a game in WA. since we expect to have 10+ less frees than the home team.

Any Egirl dives forward etc got a FK You had to be punched in the face in an MFC jumper to get a kick after half time. Pathetic one way umpiring

I suspect he will get Jake Lloyd or Mills next week. Ol Milkshake's making a bit of a name for himself ...the ' Neutralizer'
daisycutter 30,006 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 what do posters think of garlett's tackle when the kickout player ran into him. was it really high or a bit soft. haven't had time to see it on replay

Just watched the replay and seriously amazed that we won. Reduced interchanges with injuries. Horribly biased umpiring, not just the obvious 27 to 16 free kick count but the number off frees not awarded to Melbourne. Anything that is a 50/50 that would normally be play on at any other venue, is an automatic free kick to the Ducking Eagles when at home.
DeeZone 10,584 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Magnificent win, can't speak to highly of Viney & TMac supported by a great team effort and some real gut running from ANB, Bugg & Harmes. What a great Win have watched that last 8 minutes multiple times and still cannot believe that last effort from Oliver, Hibberd, Hunt, Pedo and TMac, absolutely electrifying!!!! Go Dee's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The effort that went in to the last goal was immense. It goes down on the score sheet to PMac, but it had the blood and sweat from 22 of them. They were tired and injured, but they just kept grinding it forward with everything they had. I think it's the sheer guts of it that has made me giddy. Inferior jetta.... love it!

As did the wc player i reckon. As everyone else did. Remarkable they paid for it too high given how many high tackles they let go these days - the hibberd one being a great example from last night.
