Power chant has gone up. 27 points down against Essendon. No shortage of floggery.

I'm not sure what I want to see more: Essendon go on with it and annihilate Port, or see Essendon squander such a big quarter time lead and choke.  Shame the two are mutually exclusive.

Gee Port look so slow and Essendon just look so fast. They are just free everywhere. Hopefully Hinkley sorts them out at 1/4 time. We need port to win for 2 reasons. Keeps essendon from passing us and port can knock off the tigs 4th spot.

....think the drugs are starting to wear off..

That ruck nomination [censored] is so stupid. Especially when umpires aren't  known for common sense.

Why is it even necessary to nominate?  Surely it's obvious when two players from the same team have contested the ruck.

No question here, Essendon loss would be superb.

You've talked me into it.  I think we're going to be disappointed though.

Who was the Port player putting his hands up for a free instead of running on to the ball and into the goals? I'd be spitting it I saw an MFC jumper doing that.

A Collingwood loss on Monday will make up for it. If the Bombres are romping it in I'll switch over...

Mad Max II was on at 9:30 last night, much better than Crows/Saints, the Feral Kid reminds me of my 7yo son.

The only thing I love about these nights (prefer port to lose than Essendon) - is that it really shows up team deficiencies that can be exploited. I am seriously looking forward to the next half of the season and when Hogan and Gawn come in, and Smith et al develop and knock on the door...we can match any team..except Cyborg GWS

Live ladder has Ports % down to 137.1 and Essdrug 101.4

Yep - it's not possible for Port to lose by enough to get their % down near ours unfortunately, already did the calc.  Such a topsy turvey team, they don't look good enough to have dealt out massive beltings.

Port's percentage boosting wins:
Freo by 89 points
Carlton by 90 points
Brisbane by 83 points
Gold Coast by 72 points

Strong argument for being a team of downhill skiiers there I think.

Yep. Had a funny feeling after listening to Hinkley on 3AW earlier raving about how underrated their players were and how improved his coaching was this year.

Melbourne consistently struggles to put away BOG ordinary teams, so fortunately the last label you can give us is downhill skiers (unlike Port, Adelaide, West Coast, etc.)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
