Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

How would either of them have known? They were at the G, May was in hospital and Lever in particular up to that point had been a bit preoccupied with something else. I doubt they had anything more than guesswork or third hand information to go off. Goodwin certainly didn’t know with certainty in the press conference.

Lever didn't know.

Robertson said it all in his post match on ground interview with Lever.

Verbatim... "May is ok, just a cut, getting stitches"

Saying that out aloud on the mic for everyone in the ground to hear, leaves it pretty easy to assume he'd had a call or an update re May.

Next time should probably keep his mouth shut as we've obviously found out now that he was completely wrong.

Indeed he should have. And as if we’d have subbed off arguably our least replaceable player and send him to hospital if it was just a cut. The club doctor could do stitches in the rooms.

I love Robbo but he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Anyone know what his contract status is? Turns 30 before next season commences but is coming off two AA-level seasons (robbed of one jacket) and surely has many good years left in him.

I could even him playing the next 2-3 as the team's full back, then another 2-3 in the Hibberd role or even the Salem role. A 35-year-old May would still be good enough for AFL footy.

Love the man. After 10 years and 168 games and he finally plays his first finals game.

And he keeps Joe Daniher to nil. Nudda. Zilch.

May has the great qualities of a team man. He has respect. He know what it takes and how to cherish the moment. He shakes his opponents hand before and after the game. He has the maturity to help lift others around him. The May- Lever combo was a master stroke of strategy by Goodwin and Mahoney.  It cost us high draft picks but these guys still have years ahead and complete our team.

May richly deserved to be ALL AUSTRALIAN.  He is a gun and absolutely love him in the mighty red and blue.

The look on Mayzie's face tells it all, he has a look of inner peace now, as opposed to the look of absolute despair he wore when he played for the Suns.

I often thought he was going to cry and he looked like he was carrying the weight of the side on his shoulders.

Definitely a true leader. Has matured into an excellent player plus an excellent teammate and leader.
Love his drive and he is obviously enjoying his footy at the Demons.

Maybe one or two other success starved Suns players may decide to follow Steven to the red and blue.

Steven May for MFC pick 10. Yes. Offer him a 5 year deal.

This thread showed how keen the majority of DL were to get May. He’s proven to be a key part of our success.  The great value of a strong key defender, able to shutdown the gorilla forwards from other teams.

The recruitment of Lever and May has helped create us as the #1 defensive team in the comp.

May is also a leader.  A very successful trade despite the media pundits giving us grief over the “Suns getting Ben King” .  The premiership is proof enough for me that May’s recruitment was a masterstroke.

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
