Non MFC Games Round 7

Featured Replies

Am now waiting for a champion data stat about injuries that will force the AFL to make a change to the rules next season.

It's literally the deciding factor in any game it occurs more than once.

What a fantastic game, well done Saints. Fk GWS.

Said it last week, Stevie J is done and if he is in the GWS side going fwd they are no chance of a flag (famous last words).

We're not going to miss the finals cos of a game we're not in during round 7... good to see the Saints beat the $s

This is a great win by the saints!

For those looking to finals, for anyone to be a shot, you need to keep GWS out of the top two.  If they get two home finals- that ties up one grand final spot right there.

Can't believe we just got knocked out of the finals! Oh wait. It's round 7. Calm down.

I'm loving this game, even if the Saints are going to win and ruin my tipping.

I'm forced (reluctantly) to admit that Scully is a pretty decent player.

I'm thrilled that young Minchington is getting game time and having an impact for the Saints.  He's never going to be an automatic start, but he's solidified into a genuine B- player who can be trusted to hold his own.  Nice reward for a heap of hard work.

Calm down LT, we hold our own chances in our hands. Long season.

I'm just frustrated as the season is 1/3 over and we've blown a few chances. We haven't had to leave Melbourne yet and now have to start traveling so the easy part of our draw is over and we didn't capitalise enough IMO. We can definitely still make finals, but we should probably be better off than where we are and we are also going to have to rely on other teams around us (mainly Saints) losing too.

We need to win 4 of our next 5. Should beat Hawks, North, Gold Coast and Collingwood. We cannot drop any of those games are we don't deserve to make finals. I hope we don't drop any of those as I'm f*cking sick of not seeing finals action and success. Us supporters have had it worse than any other club this past 10 years.

LT we are still learning to win.

We should be 5-1 but we are not.

Still 16 games to play...

Certainly two out by half time presents an enormous challenge but no rule can fix that......not that that would stop AFL HQ making a knee jerk decision.

I'm with you brother. The 3 losses in a row hurt. We should have won them all.

But there are games we will drop that are unexpected and hopefully some that we will pinch when it's unexpected.

Saints won one tonight that they shouldn't have. But its only round 7. Long way to go.

Aarrgghh, me too man! I was so foul after the Richmond loss and it was compounded by having their catchy song in my head for 3 bloody days!!

i still maintain ours is the best, however. Many agree

For all the talk of them being 2 down...it was only one down.

GWS put the kid back on that was concussed and he didn't look right.

I hope they get hammered for this but doubt the AFL will do anything about it.

GWS is at have a monopoly on talent but they still haven't proved they can beat good sides in Melbourne. As I said before they will struggle playing finals at the MCG and now Etihad.

Yes we have to win sunday for sure. Whorethorn are cooked. If we roll over it will be curtains for 2017

i reckon 12 wins will be enough to make the 8 this year.

It's going to be tight as.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
