Normal limp " snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory " effort.

Due to injury prone status of half our list, we will probably go around with pretty much the same mob of underachievers next week.

Surely Stretch replaces JKH and Kent replaces Bugg. A week late, but better late than never.

Trengove on pure persistence warrants serious consideration.

Melksham 30 touches and best on for Casey,

Bring him back!!!!

He was very good, made a few mistakes but attacked the ball like crazy. Played in the midlfield most the day hence his high stats but did a lot to put his name back in for selection

Got a funny story to tell.

So there was a lot of north supporters at the game today because north sent an email to their members mentioning the game at hoppers crossing had free entry.

I was standing next to a bunch of them, and because I was wearing my MFC gear plus I told them Keilty was my brother we had a bunch of friendly banter throughout the game, was a really good day.

Lindsay Thomas had a quiet game until the last quarter, and given the dirty hit on Maynard I was giving them lip about Lindsay, which they enjoyed because they knew the hit was dirty.

When Werribee was walking off the ground, I yelled out "Enjoy the holiday Lindsay!" to which a bunch of the north boys laughed.

Then all of a sudden an official for Weribee, who was wearing a suit, started having a go at me, yelling and pointing "You are a clown mate" to which I said "But he tried to kill someone today mate!"

We had a bit more of a laugh whilst the rest of the supporters were looking at me trying to figure out what was going on.

It was pretty crazy.

I wouldn't go that far yet.

He did have a very disappointing game though,

Of the tall forwards taken in his draft year Hipwood has probably been the most impressive. Weitering is a gun back but an average forward, the McKay twins are really yet to be seen and Francis although a different type of player has yet to cement his spot.

Except that we never quite reached the jaws of victory ?

1/ far too early to make such a call on a second year KPP tall

2/ Curse of first round pick -- like Oliver, Petracca, etc??

Surely you mean the curse of Nick Smith?

Not as comprehensive as the curse of Norm Smith, but for the first-round-pick tall forwards it hits, it can be horrible.

Like those changes also Dockett. But nothing will change if we don't change the way we play the game.

Handball happy Titanic....

That was one of the dirtiest hits I've ever seen

Thomas is one of the biggest waste of human space on this planet.

Pathetic ducking gutless snipper, and an ordinary player to boot. I loath him and North more than I could physically put into words. If we don't beat them in two weeks, I'm done with this season.

Rage aside, what is going on with Brayshaw? Very concerned!

The worst hoodoo, isnt it?  And we were so close last season.  Geez, as frustrating as this season has been so far, youre right...  losing to North for the 11th or 12th year in a row would be torture. They are despicable.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
