New balance apparel sponsorship renewed?

Featured Replies

Apparently the club signed a 3 year extension with New balance back in Dec 2013, which means it must be again either up for renewal or a change very soon ? Couldn't find any recent announcements . Anyone heard anything ?

Just thinking with Xmas presents etc whether to hold off or not ...?(i.e if we were to change sponsors)

New Balance invested a lot in designing the jumpers and shorts with state of the art technology:  "On top of its new deal, New Balance has also redeveloped Melbourne’s guernsey to a lightweight performance with patented New Balance dry moisture wicking technology for players’ jumpers and shorts."

So it is hard to see NB (or any sponsor) jumping off the Demon bandwagon; especially now when we are on the cusp of success and they can reap the rewards of their loyalty and their investment.

Take your point LH ... Interestingly though the dogs have now switched to asics , either they got a better deal being the premiers or it might have been negotiated before the finals series

Hope they stay, the 70% Discount last year was outstanding, and encouraged me to go back and get other stuff,

Outstanding considering they would've still made a margin on the sale.

But agree, good value.

If they were to sign on again I'd be pushing for a greater range of MFC apparel on their website. It's disgraceful

There was an article on the AFL website listing the clubs with new kit manufacturers in 2017. No mention of Melbourne,

FWIW the training gear they're wearing at the moment is plastered with NB.

And that all relates to MFC how?

So they know how to back winners.

last time I checked, it was a free country and people were allowed to hold their own views and opinions.  Whether or not I agree with them does not make them or their products 'suck'.  It is perhaps this type of holier-than-thou attitude that led all of those who have been told they suck for holding a belief to rise up and put Trump in the White House?

i have always had excellent experiences with New Balance, and would welcome them back.

I think davo was being sarcastic

Then that is a good sign!  ? It shows that they can 'pick winners'! ?

The Trump connection is unfortunate. It would appear that New Balance's interests in him are entirely commercial rather than a social statement, but would have been better if they'd not blown a gloat-horn while so many people are in fear for basic rights, and so many others are anxious on account of empathy and shared values.

It's a bit distasteful, especially with a company which is supposed to have an all-encompassing market profile.

Wow, wouldn't it be the essence of everything wrong with America if six months from now people are having to choose their shoes based on political affiliation?

I've lost count of the times Hoges had his jumper torn to shreds .. perhaps it's designed to tear off in a tackle !! ?

4th of November I received an email from the club out lining current discounts for members.

New Balance is harris scarfe brand, bargain basement sportswear. Hoping we get a decent brand to put our gear together eventually. Have bought 4 hats in 5 years and they're all garbage.

Bollocks. Have bought plenty of gear from them and the quality is no different from Nike or Adidas. The Melbourne windbreaker jacket has been one of my favourite purchases of the year. Never thought I'd wear it anywhere but the footy, but I wear it pretty often.

The NB running shoes are fantastic. Hoping the 70% is back next year to buy another pair.

No its not, its awesome.   Winners, winners, winners.

I will exclusively buy New Balance gear from now.

New Balance seem to be alright. They are also responsible for designing the kits of both my football teams. Melbourne and Liverpool. The only problem is both of those brands aren't what they used to be. Hopefully in time, both clubs will either establish the brand as a winner or both clubs upgrade to a winning brand with big commercial deals.

Anyway, good on them for jumping on at a time when we needed them.

Wait. If their quality is so fantastic why would you need a new pair a short time after buying the last?

Try not to listen to the media rhetoric and do your own research before deciding on your own opinion, liberals have started to burn New Balance in America just because it doesn't follow the media story.
