Not sure this is the right forum for this but she sadly passed away from breast cancer.

Rebecca Wilson dead at 54

She ignited a lot of comment on this site, particularly over the EFC drugs fiasco but was fearless and forthright. RIP.

I liked listening to her, she was a good media performer always with a strong opinion. Like it or not...

Sad news and quite surprising, she did well to keep this quiet.

RIP Rebecca.

Damn , I really liked her.  She masterfully got under Essendrug supporters skin during the drug saga, and for that she is a legend.

RIP Rebecca

Very sad and much too young.

Very good and strong independent thinking journo.

Didnt pander to popular opinion.

Kept her illness quiet to spare others.

RIP and sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Felt very sad to hear this on Radio National this morning.

Disliked her constant attacks on the MFC during the dark period - in particular in relation to the 'tanking' allegations when Carlton were similarly, if not more, culpable - but she was obviously a good journalist and was a champion to have kept this a secret to protect her family.

Cut down far too soon. That's always tragic.

Fearless in her stoush with Dermie on SEN a while back.  She was great on the ABC's sports show the Fat with Tony Squires, Mikey Robbins and our own Dr. Turf years ago.

Gone too soon thoughts are with the family

Interesting interview about her between Red Symons and Caroline Wilson on '3LO' this morning, with incidental insight into both Wilson (unrelated) women and Rebecca's brother, Ch7's Jim.

About 10 past 7.

I enjoyed listening to Rebecca. Didn't always agree with her but she was always fair and showed class.

RIP Rebecca and condolences to your family.

I checked out League Unlimited to see how they were coping ... Jesus. Had to fight through the confetti and streamers to see what was going on.

What a heartless bunch of merkins (to use LU language). I advise you not to check it out, it's utterly tasteless.

Very Sad news. She was one of a very few Sydney journalists who knew that Melbourne and Victoria even existed. I had no idea she was suffering

Really sad news and a complete surprise last Sunday on Offsiders, when Caroline Wilson mentioned her illness.

i admired and was a little in awe of her courage and thick skin. Refused to be intimidated by the NRL boys club.

Don't think I will miss the hyperbole.  ("That was the most fantastic game you would ever see...")

Also, when you are Sydney-centric you can't really pull off the attempted love affair with AFL.

But RIP and kudos for not going down in front of a Woman's Weekly photo shoot and the establishment of another foundation.  Although most foundations are mostly altruistic...bar the Shane Warne Foundation.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
