Give the guy a full preseason before riding him off. He wasn't even running this time last year.

its unfair to criticize him before a good pre seasonย

I don't think Webber is that way inclined

It's not the players!!! It's our game plan.ย

We have a superior list than Footscray at both VFL and AFL levels however we play an outdated game plan that gets exposed with the modern game.

both the saints and dogs play a high pressure, quick game that makes us look slow.ย

Goodwin needs to look away from Roos structure and implement the clarkson planย

Rubbish. This kind of 'better list' nonsense really makes me laugh. How can you possibly say we have better lists when they consistently get monsteredย by the team's you claim are inferior?. It's pie in the sky garbage.ย

The flat track at etihad plays right into Footscray's fast running game plan.ย

It also exposes our lack of outside speed and pace

Maybe so, but we beat them by 70 points didn't we?

It's an interesting point.

But we beat the Hawks... Not sure what that means for the game plan

The Hawks are finished. Not at quick as the other sides anymore.ย

Hate this bulldog breed.

I liked the losers more.

Get your head out of the clouds...

The MFC has got to stop over rating itself. Lots of players had their last game today.ย

I completely agree with your first statement. How anyone would suggest we do is quite baffling!

ย

But as for the second bolded sentence, I'm surprised that you have somehow equated Bandicoot's opinions with those of the MFC.

On the other hand perhaps you are aware of something I'm not.

And that's it - Casey lose by 31 points.

Absolutely destroyed today. The midfield just didn't try outside of the 2nd quarter. If you lose the possession count AND the tackle count it means you're not trying. As simple as that. Outside of Oliver the mods were all well down. Guys like ANB, Grimes, Michie, Kennedy, Jones etc were all poor. Disappointing end to the season.ย

MFC Supporters...

Where was the leadership? An issue that runs through the seniors and into the seconds IMO.

Smith and Kielty will both be on AFL lists next season.

Very, very disappointing from Casey and Melbourne perspective. ย The more experienced Melbourne playersย in particular, were disappointing, with only Oliver and perhaps Weideman (glimpses only), showing that they might have what it takes at AFL level.

Oliver, Weideman (although he needs to get a lot stronger and fitter) and Joel Smith. That's the only promise out there from today's game as far as I can see. Anyone else?ย

I said that an hour ago and got shouted down by everyone because Casey were in front.ย

People talk about having faith in the FD. Whoever made the decisions to give Garland a 3 year deal and Spencer a year extension, have no idea of what makes an AFL footbller.

One of my least favourite things about this forum is how even a loss in, what amounts to, 'the Reserves' turns into a rant about how the entire club has theย wrong game plan, had no leaders, and will never be a good team.

Most of these guys are in the two's because they aren't good enough. Lets not read TOO much into it.

ย

ย

The Dees are more than 18 months behind the Doggies, they seem to have reserves that can step up to senior level and certainly the Western Bulldogs are going to be one of those destination club not like us. The positive ( ? ) shows who we need to get rid of and what we need to get.ย

mo64 is probaly the most level headed and reasoned poster on here. so much delusional crap posted on here most of the time. at best our list is destined for mid table in its current state. it needs so much more for this 'potential' to be anything more than that.ย

From today:

The good:ย  Most of last years draftees get finals experience - great for their development.

The bad:ย  32 scoring shots to 16.ย  Never really in it.

The ugly:ย  Shows how shallow MFC depth really is.ย ย

My sentiments as well. Bunch of doomed gloombags.

ย

Fair Dinkum.......I have never heard so much whinging and wining from posters of this site

They have sacked half the team........Made calls on players playing in a bloody Grand Final which they lost by 30 odd points to a very good side all through the year

The amount of vitrol for the MFC listed players is embarassing.ย ย  If they are that bad....Go support someone else

The same said posters were adulating the team in our two other finals wins

A week is a long time in football.

The bulldog played some terrific footy.......We had an off quarter which cost us dearly.

See you next year???

ย

Note To Recruiters:

good disposal skills (both in execution and target selection) is a NON-NEGOTIABLE

ย

Going through these comments I'm stumped at the posts outlining all the 'glaring problems'with Casey.

did people miss the fact that they just played in a grand final and were the minor premiers? Clearly they've got something right going on down there.

they were beaten on the day simple as that.

rather than jumping on (and off) the Scorpions bandwagon just stick to the usual crap you dish out about the demons and don't pretend you come down to casey every week and know what's going on there.

The individuals on the Bulldogs side weren't as good as our players.

ย There was little team spirit .

The players are good enough but the team isn't.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chancesโ€”plenty of themโ€”but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Portโ€™s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
