Fringe Tiger forward keen for trade

I remember talk of him going early during the Salem draft as a player who was on our radar.

I've always thought he looked a really gifted and natural footballer who definitely possesses attributes that our list is seeking but for whatever reason he hasn't been able to put it all together.

Far too early to tell whether or not he'll make it and I imagine the Tiges will want an early second round pick for him at the very least.

Good speed and agility and is a great kick and mark. Could be the kind of player who'd release Kent and allow him to play on the wing more.

Anyway, not sure how realistic it is but I definitely rate him.

I haven't watch to many tigers games as I don't really find them interesting but he is a player that would come in for depth. I have seen him play and he isn't to bad but then again haven't had the chance to watch him that much. Wouldn't care if we didn't get him and if we did I wouldn't want to give up much.

What talented youngsters are left at Tiggerland? Legit question.

Rioli, Vlastuin maybe.....and?

Prestia is off his nut going there. The place is a complete shambles.

Not worth any more than a 3rd rounder at most.

Has (had) talent, but has not put it together yet and doesn't seem like he will.

Maybe for depth, but think we have enough players of his type currently.

Fair chance he'll end up at Gold Coast as part of the Prestia trade.

They'll be looking for his type.

I reckon he's got some talent but not sure where the Tigers asking price would sit, he's certainly behind in his development based on where i think he should be

I think Lennon still needs game time before we can truly value his worth, has shown us that he has talent however there has to be a reason other then injury that has prevented him from more game time in the last two seasons. I'd rather see us persist with Garlett, Kennedy, Kent, Harmes, JKH, Vanders and Petrecca. If we were to get a high Half Forward or a Small Forward I'd rather see us go for someone with a lot more pace.

I was at his first game against Melbourne when he kicked a couple of goals and looked a likely player.

I wonder what's gone wrong.

There appeared to be an issue 12 months ago before he accepted another contract.

I have similar thoughts on him.  My concerns would be related to work rate and attitude as they are the only things I can see that would be keeping him out of the Tigers side.

Just looks like he'll be part of the Pretia trade. You think they would get away with first rounder this year, Lennon and Conca. Players that have some skill but for some reason havent made it. I'd like to have Lennon, but assume it would cost us a second rounder and I wonder if he is worth it.

To play as a permanent half forward is a tough gig for a young player. Lennon has some talent, and I suspect that his new club will groom him as a midfielder/half forward.

Agree with McQueen. He could be part of the Prestia trade.

GC want players, not an unproven 2's player.

If I was them I would look at pick 6 and Ellis perhaps. They would then be looking to offload 6 for another good mid.

I'm not a big fan of what Ellis has put out the last few years but he needs a change of coach.

I wouldn't mind Lennon for a good deal, but feel he hasn't put enough runs on the board to warrant what Richmond will ask for a contracted player.

Would rather us chase Tom Lamb for a fraction of the price who can also play back as well as high half forward and mid.

And for those suggesting he could be part of the Prestia trade. He may, but he'd have to agree to it. And he strikes me as the can of kid who would want to stay in Victoria.

Straight swap for Grimes?

I'd prefer Grimes.

And Grimes is a FA, so trading him isn't an option anyway.

I would give up our second round pick for Ben Lennon. He is an exceptional talent. I have no idea why he hasn't been given much of a go at the Tigers? Perhaps he has not helped himself, or maybe he hasn't worked hard enough. But the talent is there. He is a going to be a really good player this kid.

Wonder if the Tigers would be tempted by Dawes and a swap of later picks?

I believe that was the word prior to him re-signing with Richmond, wouldn't surprise for him to still be agitating for that move.

I was high on him in his draft year, but surely by now we of all clubs have learnt that talent alone is not enough?

Whilst he's ranked elite for marks and above average for marks inside the F50, he's ranked as below average for shots on goal and goals per game in both the VFL and AFL. No thanks, we've already got enough problems with Hogan and Petracca.

He does have talent, but he also possesses some fine skills and is an above average athlete. I don't see many flaws in Lennon. I think he is a good pick up. Not sure what his gripe is with Richmond, but Hardwick doesn't appear to be getting the best out of his players. I would back our club to get the best out of Ben Lennon, and I think his best will be very good.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
