Mods,

Any chance this can be installed instead of the 'like' option?

I am not good with forum functionality, however it seems more fitting and it may also cut down on [censored]-for-tat abuse between users..

Thoughts all?

I think "dislike" invites too much negativity. If you disagree with someone or dislike what they've said, quote them and explain why. A "like" is a way to simplify "I agree", or that you endorse/ appreciate the comment. If you agree then there is nothing else to say, so you "like". But simply clicking "dislike" or "disagree", it might discourage interaction and response because all you do to do to let someone know you don't like what they've said is click a button, without really validating in any way why you think they're wrong.

Just my thoughts.

Well Mattjm, it's a difficult one. For instance, one of your last posts simply stated 'I love my mum'. Do I press 'like' or do I expose you as the half wit that you undoubtedly are? For mine, it's the latter.

Make dislikers explain why they dislike something.

Ok. Mattjm I disliked your 'I love my mum' post in the post game thread. Whilst you clearly love your mother it may not add anything to the discussion. I had porridge for breakfast. I chose not to post about it on that thread for similar reasons.

It's not relevant for every post though. Not every post is a topic for debate.

I think today's game combined with the full moon and upcoming solstice is having a bizarre effect on Demonland.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
