He is almost there, but needs to stop bombing.  Like Lamumba, if he can change from Run, Run, Run, Bomb to Run, Run, Steady, Hit Target he;ll be a huge asset to the side.

Love his tackling, pace and relentless play. For the oldies on the site he could well be another Donny Williams.Wouldn't that be great!

The silence for Hunt is deafening

Fantastic isnt he, but it was hard to fit him and a lot of others in the votes

6 - Max Gawn - he will be AA ruckman, or at least on the bench. Dominant.

5 - Nathan Jones  -   32 possessions, 5 tackles, 5 inside 50's, 5 clearances, a goal. Leadership.

4 - Bernie Vince -   just the lazy 42 touches.  Did as he pleased.

3 -  Dean Kent - best game he has played surely,  had so much impact as the main small forward.  23 possies, 9 inside 50's, 3 goals

2 -  Jesse Hogan - some of those marks were so good, he looked like a man among boys. What a presence.

1 -  Dom Tyson -  his superb year continues, 29 touches and 9 tackles

Apologies to many, we didnt really have a weak link and the Pies are lucky we didnt beat them by 100.

6 Gawn

5 Vince

4 Tyson

3 Jones

2 Frost (looks so at home down back)

1 Tmac

Anyone who doesn't give Gawn top votes is having a laugh.

He was singly handedly the most influential player on the ground. Killed 3 opponents, won his own ball, marked well and kicked 3 crucial goals. A giant game from a giant man!

6. Gawn

5. Vince

4. Kent

3. Jones

2. Tyson

1. Bugg

6. Gawnius maximus

5. Vince

4. Tyson

3. Kent

Gawn vs three opponents:

Gawn - 27 disposals, 31 Hitouts, 3 Goals 1

The 3 - 28 disposals, 33 Hitouts, 3 Goals 2

Bearing in mind that most of the time only one of them was directly opposed to Max at any given time.  He's just absolutely smashed them.

6. Big Maxy

5. Bernie

4. Tyson

3. Jones

2. Hogan

1. Watts

If only there was room for another six - great even spread of contributors today - apologies to Trac, Viney, T Mac, Kennedy, Bugg, Frost

6. Gawn - The best ruckman in the game

5. Vince - Benefitting from the improved back 6 more than anyone. Prolific.

4. Tyson - 11 touches in the 1st quarter, hands inside are top tier and doesn't butcher off the boot like he was in the first month anymore.

3. Hogan - Clunked almost everything, when he's on you can see the confidence it gives everyone else.

2. Watts - There aren't many guys I'd trust over him with the footy.

1. Petracca - his best game, absolute machine.

I feel like i'm missing a dozen players which I love.

6. Max Gawn
5. Bernie Vince
4. Dean Kent
3, Tom McDonald
2. Nathan Jones
1. Dom Tyson

So they beat him. I'm changing my votes.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
