If you're wondering what happens to some ex-Demon players when they finish up at the club, then look no further than Sunday's SANFL v VFL interstate representative game.

Playing for the SANFL team are four former Demons - Alexis Georgiou, Mitch Clisby, Jordie McKenzie and Aidan Riley.

The Victorian team will have only one Casey Scorpions player - Tim Smith who will line up at CHF. Currently listed AFL players are not eligible.

Despite the fact that Channel 7 has the rights to VFL matches, the state game will not be televised. It will however, be screened live on the VFL website.

Wow! These players were on our list........shudder.

They achieved a lot more than most be at least being on a list and playing a few games. That makes them very good footballers in my book but not everyone can make the grade. But it does not mean you have to shudder.

Agreed

I agree with hemingway.

Jordie Mckenzie was very serviceable for Melbourne. Why you would shudder because he was on our list is astonishing. Adelaide were prepared to snare him from us.

Ernest - there are  always people who just don't respect the achievements of others  unless those achievements are outstanding.  As you imply, even reaching an AFL list is a bloody good achievement that the vast majority of humanity fail to achieve.

Sure these players were not world beaters and may not have achieved what they themselves would have hoped or expected, but they did wear the great red n blue

Good luck to them.

Agree all you like....VFL standard at best.

We've seen the future.

'Serviceable' is no longer the norm.

Big congratulations to Tim Smith, had a fantastic season to date. One who frustrates me when watching the Scorps, while I'm trying to figure out who is playing so well I catch glimpse of his number and realise he isn't a Demon ?

You remind of supporters from other clubs that have sustained success and forget where you came from and adopt an arrogant hard core attitude. You lack respect and it reflects on you.

You have to remember there are some on here who NEED  to denigrate from behind the safety of their leyboards  agree it reflects on them

Strange that Channel 7 has the tv rights to the VFL games but won't telecast what you would think should be one of the jewels in the crown for the competition being the representative match.

Come to think of it, we're a long way down the track in the season and yet they haven't had the Casey Scorpions on once.

Do they have an aversion to screening the top side in the competition?

Interesting snippet: The last time that the VFL defeated a SANFL team in Adelaide was in 2002 when the captain of the team was Josh Mahoney who runs just about everything at the MFC these days.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
