Out Dunn. In Garland or O'Mac. Or both.

Those calling for Garland should remember how much better the backline looked with Dunn.  Garland needs to play more than one good VFL game.  And Frost isn't going to be sent back, a pre-season mistake training him with the forwards.

Oliver must come back in.  ANB also, has earned his spot.   Viv next, White close.

Out: Salem, Frost.  Viv should be in for Hunt, however that's unlikely.

LUMUMBA is a joke, if he's caught 1 out its over, can't kick, has no vision, 1 trick pony (run in straight line 14.5m then kick ball blindly).

i need to hold my breath any time he is involved.

I also hold my breath when Tmac or frost are involved..

If we had an end to end passage of play that was Tmac on to H then him give to Frost i think I'd pass out

Couldn't see this posted anywhere. Effectively rules Trenners out of senior action for the forseeable future.

Wonder what he needs to do to prove he is ready?

He needs to wait for a home game at the G

Have the Suns forgotten what happened the last time one of their players with a crook shoulder met Jack Viney?

In -   Oliver, ANB, Stretch, White

Out - Salem (inj) Harmes, Frost, Hunt

And if the story of Tommy Mac being roasted for not following instructions is true

Out: T Mac

In: Garland

Trengove would be the next but a previous article seems to rule him out this week!

out wagner (rested)
frost (omiited)

if salem is unavailable i believe we should play matt jones or take a punt with bernie vince of the half back flank and consequently stretch comes on to interchange.
Frost in my opinion should go back to the Vfl and play CHB as he as all the attributes to play successful in this position. although Oscar mcdonald is a key position and 196 cm i believe he should play the third tall this week ahead of garland. also its going to be handy having the three balls if tom lynch becomes uncontrollable. Jayden hunt deserves another week, although he does look tired but we lack speed and that kid has SPEED, hunt can also rotate of half back. ANB has been in cracking form consequently should play his first game of the season. I think wagner should just have a break this week to make way for oscar, although i seriously rate this kid!!! either oscar or garland should play the third tall this week but id rather oscar just to develop him. i wouldn’t be surprised if we even opted for mitch white and went for a smaller option.

Good to have you on board Woodyy. But please note, your font selection is feeding into MFC stereotypes.

Nice Woodyy, you lost Kent however.  Given your appreciation for speed I would've thought he'd make the cut?   Harmes too, though he's potentially injured.

Hmm Day and Saad likely to play for GC. Beware a team coached by Eade after a flogging, too. Some people here are pencilling this game in already at our peril I reckon..

Having thought that I may have changed my mind a week ago, I again have absolutely no expectations for this side: far more talented than for many years, but sadly mentally still very soft

Mate you watching the games? Against the pies he hit a leading forward lace out 3 times with run from half back , insane comment based on what is a common misconception.

Just what I was going to say.

He has some insane attributes for a key position player and has plenty of time to learn the game. I think Frost will be alright and needs game time.

What might someone fabricate about Sam Frost? Check his birthday above, it's correct. And not that difficult to do.

While i agree he can possibly one day get there, i am starting to think that he needs to give more consistantly to prove his worth now, otherwise we are falling back into the trap of gifting games. Granted after 2 goals on the weekend im not sure he should be dropped this week but i want to start to see a goal a game and a few more marks to show that he should be in the team. Because if they wanna continue play a key forward who, for now, isnt up to it, I would rather see the weed (who also isnt up to it) atleast he has the skill to cover his deficiencies.

I agree to a point but I think the main issue should be Pedo vs Frost. Weed shouldn't be in the conversation yet because we all know how damaging it can be to throw a key forward into the mix too early. Hogan the obvious exception, because he is a freak.

I think Pedo is a better option at this stage, but the development needs to be put into Frost. Therefore it's a balancing act.

Yeah i agree weed shouldnt be in i was just using him as an example because i think frost is just as far off the pace. Pedo is always gonna be the better option for now because he can clunk a mark. If frost was taking more marks a game i wouldnt have a problem especially playing 60-80m from goal where his poor kicking is hidden, i think he would be super damaging but right now, whether through lack of skill or confidence im not sure, we are seeing him drop 2/3 or more sitters a game. He is costing us more scoring opportunities than he is creating. When he starts grabing a few marks laying a few tackles and create more opportunities for those around him he will be very much worth while having in but at this stage he is becoming too much of a liability. Give him another week but if he doesnt show improvement against the Suns i would be looking elsewhere for the time being.

I believe that Frost may become our Mark Blicavs. Similar height and weight and both have very good speed. Frost just needs more time to develop. Blicavs was a very rusty footballer in his first two or so years before he really started to learn how to use his body and speed while being given a consistent run in the seniors.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
