Did anyone else see Bugg run over to Riewoldt when he was hobbling off injured and give him a shove to make him go off balance into his bad leg?

could get in trouble for that but I love the no [censored] given attitude

Riewoldt's have a habit of getting in a player's way when they're going off injured. They should be more aware of their surroundings.

But seriously, cheap shot by Bugg. Didn't mind it!

Too right sue. The only other one I can think of is....Lumumba

You can't remember Steven Milne constantly being booed ?  He had it as bad for a lot longer.

I don't like Goodes because he's a divisive character.  Booing isn't my thing though.

Do you actually have to put in on the ground first ?

Not sure, but they do it, so maybe that is the rule.

Just checked it is not a rule.

I hated Milne and he got booed quite a bit. But nothing on the scale of Goodes.  And in a contest as to whose on-field behaviour was the worst, Milne won by many many laps.

Edit to add:. BTW, living where I do and having had Sydney thrust down my throat for years (and now GWS) and therefore hating the club, I can honestly say that I never took out my anger by thinking any Sydney player was booable, including Goodes. Which is part of the reason I believe that his on-field behaviour was not in the booable class of say a Milne.

in the second quarter with about 11mins to go, Riewoldt kicks a goal and then you can hear the umpire telling him that he is still watching out for something. Anyone know what he was complaining about and how come the umps are paying special attention to and why?

Saw that as well.  Wouldn't normally have liked it, but it came a qtr or so after Watts was out of the play and down on one knee fixing his boot laces on the edge of the square and Ellis came past, went out of his way and shoved Jack hard using his shin and nearly pushed him over.  Thought that was very unsportsmanlike, so from then on, anything goes in my book.

Cannot believe i just heard Barrett completely pump us up on Triple M saying we are a potential finals side this year..

He's probably trying reverse psychology now. ;) It didn't work dissing us every week, time to start putting us under a different psychological pressure.

But seriously, they were talking about this on SEN last night. Win this week against St Kilda and I think it really sets up our season.

I thought the hubby was a collywobbles supporter from memory.

Well done Jane u have converted him to the darker side!

He is a Pies supporter but is a signed up MFC member and nearly always comes along with me to watch the Dees. I think he needs to come out of the closet. He's been to more MFC matches this season than Collingwood ones.

Bit rough on Hogan.

Competed well in the air and bought the ball to ground that led to a number of goals

Hogan competed well but did make a number of errors that I think the coaches will pull him up on. Running back into Garlett's path at a mark, not handpassing to Viney and getting smothered by Cotchin. Even he has to know his role. I love that he seemingly never goes missing, but he makes rookie mistakes around the footy from time to time - not unexpected for a kid 25 games in.

Win this week against St Kilda and it makes up for the Essendon game. At best we'll be break even after next week.

I reckon beating the Hawks in one of those games will go towards making up for that Essendon loss. Beating St Kilda is what we should go and do, which is precisely what we should have done to Essendon. But more than anything else, I want to see some consistently from us. We've strung three weeks in a row together now. May it continue.

Watched the replay this morning, a nice birthday present for yours truly. Richmond weren't that bad, we turned the ball over a lot - as usual - but the difference to yesterdays' sides, post 2006 anyway, is the sheer relentlessness of our attack. That and a confidence and 'attitude' that grows with every game.

The clincher for the Demons now, and this makes them a very dangerous side, is the sheer talent on the forward line, a talent matched by hunger, skill and ferocity at the ball.

The feeders, that is the mid field ain't half bad either.

Suprised noone has mentioned Morris throwing his head backwards when he got tackled around the waist in Richmond's forward fifty.

I absolutely hate seeing this and I went mental at the ground when I saw it happen. Players should get a warning and if it happens again suspended for a week.

There actually is a rule against it.  It's a reportable offence and if found guilty it's a mandatory two week suspension.  I think it may have been called once shortly after the rule was enacted, but in general the umpires simply lack the courage to make the call, no matter how obvious the dive is.

I'm most excited by our midfield and big Max, but we certainly have goal-scoring power all of a sudden. I reckon the impending debut of Petracca is keeping everyone in the forwardline really hungry. No one wants to lose their spot.

The importance of Tyson finding his 2014 form cannot be underestimated. That means a bloke who wins his fair share of clearances and hits the scoreboard. Add him to Vince, Gawn and Jones and we have some mids that lessen the pressure on our forwards to kick a winning score.

Now we just need Jones to lift a fraction and return to his goal-kicking ways and we'll be seriously tough to beat. I hope when one or two of these other guys have down days, others pick up the slack.

We have kicked 56 goals for the last three weeks. Hogan has kicked 5 of these. Imagine the scores we'll be kicking when he does start to find some goal scoring form.

Does it really need to be pointed out what the difference was between Milne and Goodes? Come on, you're better than that.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
