He instigates enough too,  the cycle of tediousness will forever continue.

Anyway enough about that,  how much will we lose by on Sunday?  I'm tipping 40-60 points

Will be happy if we can keep it around 30, not happy if it gets to around 60

As much as last week's loss was disappointing, I have us winning this game... because last weeks loss was so disappointing, I have us winning this game. It's got Geelong written all over it IMO.

Will you really be happy if we can keep it around 30 though.?  They will score over 100, we won't. Prepare for a loss >30.

It is a little early for magic mushrooms. We will get rolled this week.

I must say I like deeluded's suggestion of Hogan having a run in the midfield, somewhat like Roughead.  Didn't he do it early in the Q4 vs GWS?  Fired him up.

Just leaving him sulking in the goalsquare is very poor coaching.

they'll try to maintain the structures for the teams sake,  but delivery forward,  & structures seem to be struggling at this moment.  From the other viewpoint,,,  Jesse is struggling to find his rhythm  & getting pizzed off with life.

chicken or egg,  sometimes its easier to keep the structure,  but switch the personnel.

so maybe Gawn forward for 4 minute spells,  every 9 minutes or so?   just to get Hogan running  & jumping at the footy  & taking crashing marks around the ground.

Garland and Brayshaw left out.

So Wagner is a straight swap for Garland, who will come in for Brayshaw? Dunn I guess? The balance wasn't quite right last week.

Well, there you go.  I've defended him in the past, as many would know, but I can't defend him being dropped.

I'll cop that on the chin.

Edit - I think Kent and Harmes are very lucky as well.  They aren't named on the bench so they'll play on Sunday, but I haven't been impressed with their start to the season.  Hopefully they can improve this weekend.

I feel this year is make or break for North, they've got a very ageing list and while Boomer is a freak for being able to keep his form so consistent they still are so reliant on him so once retirement comes for him there will be a big hole to fill. They can be very good, and usually are with us, but they do on occasion drop their guard. Maybe this will be the week.

North have had the wood on us, When we were a front-running side without a defensive ability.    They just used to pressure us & we'd drop the ball.  & our shite.

This Melbourne side has been taught to defend & pressure as a matter of course,  then attack at the right time.

We will be different to what they were used to from us.

I predict a real arm wrestle.

No ANB?

Roos made a special mention in the interview re rewarding form at Casey. What a joke.

Or it may be that he wants to reward consistent form, or consistently doing the team things, before they are promoted?  ANB might have had 30 odd touches but that doesn't always tell the whole story.

Was prepared for the disappointment of ANB not being named. Why would a rubbish team need a player who had 36 possessions and kicked 2 goals? We have James Harmes.

Garland gets made part of the leadership group. Dropped by Round 3.

It's verging on a comedy act, really.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
