If anyone was in any doubt about Dunn's "fall from grace" they only have to hear Roos' comments, i.e how he's "responded" and picking an "in form team".

We won't win this.

Not a chance.

Yes we will.

Viney to have 40 touches.  Frost returns and kicks 10.1 from just 11 kicks.  Dunn keeps Petrie scoreless.  Gawn monsters Goldstein in the ruck, forcing him to retire.  Watts lays 17 tackles.  Garland makes no mistakes yet still cops it from everyone.  Lumumba takes 27 attacking bounces and doesn't get tackled once.

And Hogan re-signs for 15 years at just 200k a year, realising money isn't everything and he wants to sacrifice the coin for a premiership.

I understand.

The lure of fantasy is quite strong when one's reality is being a demons supporter.

It's ok. We're all here for each other.

Fantasy?  I live in reality my good friend Choke.

I forgot one - Dom Tyson spins out of 134 tackles during the game and doesn't get pinged for holding the ball once.

Believe, my friend.

Oh dear. You seem to be much more far gone than I initially feared.

I'm not sure I'm qualified to help with this sort of case. I suggest you find yourself a qualified medical professional.

No referral will be necessary, simply print out your posts and present them at the office. I'm sure they'll fit you right in as an emergency case.

Interesting. I wonder if we'll see a harsh call on Salem. Vince back to the midfield seems likely. I get the feeling there will be a few changes.

I think there is no Bex strong enough for this level of delusion. I think you need to go find yourself in Nepal or something lol

I would only rest Hogan once Dawes returns to the side.

A forward line headed by Pedersen and Frost scares me.

Yes I understand,  but at our stage you also have to consider the players situation, if he is battling with issues?  his body language speaks like yelling its not him, so he is struggling with something?  the coaches no doubt will know?

He looks to me like its really effecting him.  we can all see that.  So if he doesn't start to find form & satisfaction I wonder if he's get a week off?  I think after North we have some teams in our area of the ladder coming up?

We need to get maturity into the Midfield and that's an option for Hogan as well if things stay tough.   Even a run as 2nd ruck to get him away from the number 1 defender, whilst he finds some rhythm on the ball?

So when Hogan gets a run on ball,  Gawn can go to the forward pocket with Watts in the square leading about,  really changing up the matchups for they're defence.

Re resting Hogan for a week,,  =  Watts in goalsquare leadup,  TMac @ chf leadup,  &  Pedo F/Pocket & 2nd ruck,,,,,  Dunn & Garland in defence with either Frost or Omac as the other tall defender.

Situation? Issues? He's a 21 year old who's been a beast his whole football life and coming off a rising star and enormous media scrutiny and is simply frustrated at his own form. He will be fine. He's one early goal away from all the pressure dissapearing.

Two games. Four goals. I wish we had more players who when in bad form still manged 2 goals a game.

I'm sure he'll be fine, if handled the right way, & I said I'm sure the coaches will know what is happening with him.  And I trust this coaching group.

We were talking about tired players,  particularly1st season players,  & some will no doubt get rested.  Oliver may be one soon.  & not out of the question for Hogan as well.

So this was generally about playerS getting rested,  & Roosy has rested players before,  including Hogan.

So depending on how he settles,  will determine how this plays outs.  Its just a possibility.

I think Oliver will soon get a rest,  this will allow a mature inside mid back in.

Kent is arguably the biggest mystery out of that game. What happened for his output to be SO down?

Remember this is the bloke that our captain nominated as THE standout performer in pre-season.

I can only hope with that number of possessions he was unwell   If not OMG !

I must say I like deeluded's suggestion of Hogan having a run in the midfield, somewhat like Roughead.  Didn't he do it early in the Q4 vs GWS?  Fired him up.

Just leaving him sulking in the goalsquare is very poor coaching.

Their scoring power will be too much for our disorganised back line to deal with, they have already scored over 100 points in both of their games,  when was the last time we have done that? I'm tipping something like 120-60. Not as optimistic as wiseblood, but conditioned to mediocrity

for what it's worth, i think north are very, very good and we will get belted this weekend.

I feel this year is make or break for North, they've got a very ageing list and while Boomer is a freak for being able to keep his form so consistent they still are so reliant on him so once retirement comes for him there will be a big hole to fill. They can be very good, and usually are with us, but they do on occasion drop their guard. Maybe this will be the week.

He instigates enough too,  the cycle of tediousness will forever continue.

Anyway enough about that,  how much will we lose by on Sunday?  I'm tipping 40-60 points

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
