A physio showed me a helpful exercise - put a jar on its side, press down and roll it repeatedly under the arch of your foot. Good also for Spurs which often accompany fasciitis.

Thats a good one Chook. Ive had it for 2y after working on a concrete floor. Tried many things as well, it can be very hard to fix.

Pastry Roller would be a better bet rather than glass i reckon

Another trick is a full plastic water bottle frozen rolled under your arch with pressure or a golf ball hurts but eventually  stretches the tendon. Frozen water bottle numbs the pain Do it when sitting watching the dees on TV

I'm looking for is a strong start. Started poorly in the first two games and been caught napping defensively.

That and a reinstalment of faith in Tom McDonald.

I hope McDonald goes to Riewoldt regardless of where the Saints play him. He's always done quite well on Nick.

What's your diet like OD? My wife had it very badly and went through the whole podiatrist, physio, acupuncture routine: all of whom could only manage symptoms. She'd resigned herself to it but was (unrelatedly) diagnosed with gluten sensitivity and within weeks her plantar fasciitis had gone as well, along with a few other little things.

A naturopath or holistic podiatrist/physio (they're out there) might be able to help you.

I think I'm going to go to this match, might even see if my new flatmate (who's Dutch) might be interested in going! I'm not going to get to many games this year so would be fantastic if I could see us cap off an excellent pre-season.

I'm hoping to see strong performances from Hogan, Salem, Kent, and Tmac. I'd also like to see a strong start early, while its been good we've finished well in our first 2 NAB games of like to see us get early goals on the board,

cortisone usually gives only a temporary relief.  If you are still having problems OD, go and see a good podiatrist and get them to have some individual orthotics made for you. It's not cheap (!) but it changed me from barely being able to walk because of the pain for a few hours after I woke up to having no problems.  After a few years I stopped wearing them and if I get the smallest flare up I just wear them for a day or two and all is well again.  You might try if you can find a generic instep device if the cost scares you, but it may require the individually moulded orthotic to work properly.

proper orthotics are an excellent choice, for feet & lower back issues.  If i stop wearing them,  within 36 hrs,  I will start locking up in the lower back.  I don't wear them around the house.  just moccasins.

I'm curious as to on what logic the Saints are favourites? We're shorter priced v GWS for round one of the real stuff. ?

Good question

I only have $123.50 left in my Super Fund to spend before the old age pension kicks in and need to know how to invest wisely?

I believe in His vision

and I'm sure it'll be good for all of us, not just Collingwood

( which I'm thinking of visiting while I'm on the South Island out of reverence for Murray the Weed and others  -  is it worth the trip?)

and even more importantly, is it possible to see the game in a country that only recognises rugby, beer and horseracing ?

Yes, I think slow starts equates a bit to lack of confidence, and as we possibly clock up the wins we will be up and about quicker in tandem.

great to see this happen because then we will be something, like seemingly an age ago.

There's no logic. The odds don't represent percentage likelihood of winning/losing. Probably Saints fans are keener punters and more of them have put more money on, leading the bookies to drop the payout to protect themselves.

All I want to see tomorrow is the right attitude.

In years past this is exactly the kind of game we'd drop. Come out not switched on, not on the ball, soft, call it what you will. In the twinkling of an eye we're 5 goals down and game over.

I just want to see us show determination and resolve from the first bounce, attacking the ball all day, win or lose. Good skills, bad skills, 90 or 160 rotations, doesn't matter. Just want to see the right attitude.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
