I'll take it, but will still celebrate hardcore if we manage it during the season.

I'm talking cocaine, strippers, accidental flight to Queensland after a tab of acid, the works...

In 2012 we beat Brisbane in one of those "lightning" games (where you played back-to-back mini games), then the next week we beat Collingwood.

That's the closest thing we have to consecutive wins since we last did it properly, in Rounds 13-14 of 2011.

It means a little

The membership point is a good win - we might not have looked flash in winning, but it's a win and that is what everyone talks about.  Can only be a good thing.

Wins are great for membership and general positivity around the club. Ultimately wins in NAB mean more to the lower teams because they need hope.

That's not to downplay the results too much though, 2 wins are definitely better than 2 losses!

And after we beat St. Kilda next week it will become 3 from 3. A nice confidence builder for a young team for whom the game plan is finally starting to gel and it means that we turn up for Round One much better prepared than in the recent past. Go Dees!

Simple really. Two wins feels a lot better than two losses.

I will take a win any time anywhere for any reason.

Confidence is a huge thing, could be the difference between wins and close losses so fingers crossed we carry it into the season

A decade is a long to be the also rans of any competition dee-luded.

AS Jon Ralph said in today's HUN " But for a club that has defined mediocrity for a decade , NAB cup wins against Port Adelaide and the Dogs will do just fine."

On the outside the club is all smiles but on the inside the coaches would be scratching their heads. Take the win but still a long way to go.

I am very confident that 99% of MFC supporters would agree with you BA.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
