  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

.... it's great to see the shackles breaking away finally from the fuscia-choirboys  this club drifted into being,  over the past 17 years or so.

they lads are sporting sleeves of ink with a touch of class.  some manliness about it.  & hopefully its a reflection of some inner sense of  guts & dee-termination  we will see this season proper.

geez its great to feel like the political correct ones up north,  are losing their death grip on this club finally.

go boys play hard,  & win tough,  & take NO Prisoners.

We have threads on the pros and cons of our logo, jumper design and off-field apparel. All of them show that people have differing tastes. But they also show that fashions change with the times. And thank goodness for that - imagine wearing 1970s flares or 1980s shoulder pads today. Or tattoos in 2020.

Thank [censored] the man bun didn't quite catch on like sleeve tattoos. They truly are an abomination.

But the bushranger beard seems to be growing in popularity (Gawn, Butcher, etc)!

I see what you mean but not 100% sure I agree. I reckon you can still be tough without the 'tough stickers'.

I think Jeremy Howe has a few doesn't he? Each to their own.

Tough stickers??  Really? Is it the 70's still? FMD.

agree FITB...  I haven't a single ink on me.

But it is fantastic to see us break away from the squeaky clean choirboy appearance of the past decade plus.

It also sets a standard where some self expression is allowed or even encouraged,  letting players be individuals within the group & have confidence in that expression,  which inturn allows creativity to flow more naturally.

& this can then transfer into more cohesion thru happiness within the team.  & so into output & focus onfield in games.

Players being free to be themselves around the club & out in their lives,   instead of some subliminal fear of non acceptance via going outside the non stated rules of so called etiquette within our clubs hierarchy.

Unless you're a bushranger that beard is pretty rotten. If you have a bushranger beard I'm pretty sure it's law you have to wear a tea kettle style knitted beanie as well (unless you're playing a game of AFL).

You are showing your age.

Having a tattoo/tattoo's is the equivalent of having your ears pierced now. I draw zero inference from a person having a tattoo.

I do.
I think "Here's a person who makes poor decisions."
Especially women.

At least you can take your piercings out.
Except those losers with great gaping holes in their lobes.

As I said....showing your age...

It is generational thing  - when you go out and see how many of the younger generation now are sporting tattoo's from all walks of life it is obvious it is not confined to any one demographic ( excepting of course youth) and in that generation  has no connection to poor decision making..

Let's be perfectly candid here.

The facts! In the entire history of mankind, there has never been an attractive tattoo. NO tattoo looks good. There is something clinically and psychologically wrong with people who get tattoos.

NB: Naturally, I will excuse any Melbourne player who has tattoos and who plays well.

the inference is about the silent unwritten ways of overly straight ways of our past.  whereby most would be too concerned about stepping out of line in the squeaky clean sterile surrounds within the past clubs ways.

those choirboy ways.

its about having the freedom of expression & feeling free to be oneself.  goes to happiness & security around the club as a whole. this inturn removes anxiety, opens their minds to learning more easily, & so forth.

a healthy way to grow & learn from the coaches,  with an open mind & clearer thinking.

And it was on this day that the Demonland admins could no longer deny what had been so obvious for so long.

A statement will soon be made announcing mandatory drug testing before posting.

Just waiting for Dee-luded to get a 'mystery finger injury' preventing him from posting for a time, as he will likely use his first 2 strikes within an hour or so.

So funny the thoughts of some people and their reactions to others having tattoos.

Bring back the good Ol days when men were men, women were beaten at home and minorities were not tolerated and tattoos... Well they were all bad people who were in jail!

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
