Posting Unsubstantiated Rumours on this Website is Strictly Forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

After the siren: Wines leaves Port stranded on third base.

Ashley Browne may just be trying to ruffle some feathers, but it's interesting nonetheless ...

From everything I've heard with Ollie, he's a happy camper in the South-West but this will certainly spark some enquiries.

Wines at Melbourne and Toumpas at the Power?

I posted a few months ago in a thread I can't remember that Channel 10 here in Perth reported Wines was only thinking about a short term contract at the most.

I have no doubt that Ollie will not play with Port past the end of next season.

Will he be a Demon?

That's a pretty big statement. I'm fairly confident he will play on with port. Of course he wants a short term contract, he's just turned 21 and would be well aware that by the time he turns 23/24 he could command a giant pay check. Which is precisely why Port want to lock him in long term. There's still a year to go on his contract, Ollie and Port will likely meet in the middle at some point during the year and he will re-sign.

Wines.

Both of them have shown the ability to be a force in the midfield, but Wines comes without the injury baggage.

So who should we take if available...Wines or Prestia?

Whilst I agree with the rationale of Wiseblood regarding injury history, I suspect the GCSs will be easier to deal with than PP insomuch that I suspect that we might have already floated the idea of a future trade for Prestia when we traded picks recently. Maybe we could find ourselves in a position to trade for them both, after all, Collingwood secured both Trealoar and Aishe in the same trade period.

Are you saying that a Channel 10 Report, has left you in no doubt that he will leave Port before 2017?

You don't arrive at the same conclusion?

Thanks for the post, but as someone from the real south-west (WA) I'm somewhat offended at your reference to Adelaide as the "south-west".

In all seriousness though, I doubt that Wines will come to the Dees, unless we lose some of our own young guns (e.g. Brayshaw, CP5, Jesse), otherwise, how are we going to fit all these blokes in under the salary cap?

Success will take care of that.

I suspect he'll remain at the Power, but I think we'd be a very good chance if he were to choose to leave.

I don't understand why people hold this view. A number of posters who have spoken to Ollie have relayed back that he has no intention of ever coming here.

I'd be very surprised to ever see him leave Port Adelaide, but given his best friend (Jack) and his old footy mentor (Todd) are both at the MFC, you would think that having both of them in his ear might sway him if he were to decide to leave Alberton. We've got a solid young group of competitors, a good coach, play at the home of football and should be entering our window in a couple of years.

I can understand that he doesn't like the idea of playing for a club that "passed" on him, but most people at the club from that time are gone.

DEE-RUBBING by George on the Outer

For the second week in a row, the Demons had to endure some particularly oppressive match conditions — this time, playing in 30 degree temperatures at the MCG, following the humid sticky Sydney atmosphere of last week.   The warmer conditions didn’t seem to worry the Dee’s since the ball was so much easier to handle, and handle it with surety they did in handing out a 45 point drubbing to the much fancied Western Bulldogs.   After a slow start that saw the Dogs out to

CROSSING THE PICKETT LINE by The Oracle

Melbourne’s performance in losing its Round Zero contest in Sydney has certainly caused the club, the coach and the players to come firmly under the watchful eye of the football world and exposed all of its aspects to a microscopic lens.   Much of the commentary surrounding them has been less than complimentary and, while some might argue that this is unfair after only one round, leaving aside some of the scuttlebutt that surrounds a lot of the discussion around the game, a fair amoun
